If you’re looking for a comfortable place to stay on your next vacation, the family-friendly Meadowmere Resort may be just the place. The Meadowmere offers comfortable, affordable accommodations in an ideal location for exploring the coastal town of Ogunquit, Maine.
LOCATION
You seriously can’t beat the location of the Meadowmere Resort. It is right near the Ogunquit Playhouse, which features great theater. It is a 15-minute walk from Perkins Cove and all its cute shops and restaurant. After a 10-minute walk we were at the entrance to Marginal Way, which is an absolute must if you are in Ogunquit. After our walk we decided to take the trolley back to the resort. We all thought it was an adorable way to commute around town.
OUR ROOM
Our room was in the East Meadow building, located in the back area of the resort. The yard is quiet and our sliding glass door opened up to the garden which allowed the kids to have the freedom of being outdoors. There was a BBQ area as well as lounge chairs. It is the perfect place to read a book while the kids play on the lawn.
Our room featured two double beds that were very comfortable. The room was even big enough to fit the cot we had brought in for my youngest daughter. (She loves having her own bed.) The room offered lots of drawer space and a large armoire to hang your clothes. The room had a table with two chairs for dining and a refrigerator. I love when a room has a fridge since it is convenient for snacks and drinks.
OUTDOOR POOL
We spent two beautiful afternoons in the large pool area. As you walk in, you pass through a beautiful shaded area covered in colorful flowers. The pool itself is large and clean, with areas that range between 3-6 feet. The resort offers towels (located at the front desk) and plenty of lounge chairs. The pool is located next to the pub so you can bring food and cocktails into the pool area. There is even a staff member that will bring drinks right to your chair.
INDOOR POOL
Since it was a gorgeous few days, we never strayed from the outdoor pool. I love when resorts have both an indoor as well as outdoor pool. It takes away the stress of a rainy day.
WEST MEADOW PUB
Continental breakfast is served in the West Meadow Pub each morning. They have a selection of yogurt, cereal, pastries, oatmeal, and fruit. If you feel like sitting outside, there is a patio with several tables.
STAFF
The staff was so kind and welcoming when we checked in. They gave us great recommendations for family-friendly restaurants in the area. They were also very helpful when we asked for a cot at 9:00 at night.
