SPA AT GROTTO BAY RESORT- BERMUDA
My husband is the sweetest guy I know and when we are on vacation he sometimes suggests I spend some time at my favorite spot… the spa. Don’t get me wrong, I love all the family bonding time, but sometimes mommy needs a time out! Give me an hour or two to myself and I’ll be rejuvenated for the rest of the trip. I like to try out different treatments in new locations, so when I saw the hotel had a spa in a cave, I had to see it myself.
I saw the entrance of the spa and it peaked my interest. It is an inconspicuous locked door that is accessible from the outside of the resort. Beside the door is a bench and they tell you to wait on that bench at your appointment time. You can’t help but wonder what will be behind that door. I figured it would be a series of dry walled rooms with typical massage tables and facilities. I NEVER would have imagined what was behind that door!
My masseuse walked out and introduced herself. Her calm personality immediately put me at ease. When she led me in the cave my jaw literally dropped. I was standing in a dimly lit cave with candles leading me down a path. Above me the stalagmites were dripping and the water reflected the flickering of the candles. There were 2 massage tables (They use 2 during couple massages) under a white canopy.
I was alone in this cave with my masseuse and all you could hear was the calming music and the dripping of water from the stalagmites. It was the only massage I ever had where I kept my eyes open. It was like a dream!
I really can’t believe I actually had a massage here. You’ve got to see this…
