bar area of Hotel Zetta in San Francisco

Hotel Zetta

A hip San Francisco vibe embraces you as soon as you walk through the doors at the Hotel Zetta. This 116-room boutique hotel is small enough to allow personalized service, which makes you feel at home. It is conveniently located 13 miles from San Francisco International Airport and approximately 20 minutes away by car or taxi, or 45 minutes by BART.

It all starts in the lobby.  Let me show you around…

This seating area is my favorite spot.  I love the wall art behind it.

They are picture of past prisoners of Alcatraz.  I love that it is an homage to one of San Francisco’s most famous landmarks.

There is a pool table,

As well as a Plinko wall that starts off on the second floor.

It has unique pieces of art.

Check out our room

We had the pleasure of staying in one of five Well & Away rooms.  These guestrooms are outfitted with environmental elements and mindful amenities for the absolute best quality rest.  After a 6-hour flight it was the perfect place to regroup before our west coast adventures. Let me show you some of the special features of these rooms:

Peloton exercise bike:  I’m not sure how I feel about having an exercise bike right in my room because it takes way all excuses to not work out…lol! Actually, I loved having it because it was like having your own personal trainer traveling with you.

Complimentary VitalBar items in mini bar:  I love that it offered healthy alternatives to what you normally find in a mini bar.

A ridiculous bar selection!

Muse meditation headband:  These are a fun tool to use with the Calm app, which is one of my favorites.  After a day of flying across the country, it is a great way to combat jet lag.

Dyson Pure Hot+Cool Link purifiers: We put this on throughout the night and it had the most relaxing white noise that allowed me to have the best night sleep.

The bed had a comfortable hypoallergenic mattress and pillows and soft linens.  The double-paned windows will ensure you have a great night sleep.

These rooms also use Method non-toxic cleaning products, including laundry detergent.

The room included a butcher-block desk with lots of work space.  There was also a 46-inch Samsung smart TV, and high-speed Wi-Fi.

The room also had a Jawbone Big Jambox with Bluetooth enabled streaming and the room had G-LINK connectivity, which you could use to connect smartphone devices to the flat screen TV for streaming.

The room had an Illy espresso coffee machine, which was a great way to start our morning wince we woke up at 5 am…thanks a lot, time difference.  We were able to each have a coffee as well as an espresso to jump start our day.

The room also had awesome artwork.

We had a spacious bathroom with a walk-in shower…I’m talking HUGE bathroom!  They provided ROIL bath and body amenities that smelled great.  They also provided luxuriously soft bathrobes that I didn’t want to take off.  They were the coolest robes I’ve ever seen because they were made out of a sweatshirt material.  I would live in them if I had them at home.

The Cavalier Restaurant

The Cavalier is an upscale British brasserie that is located in Hotel Zetta. The 135-seat restaurant has a unique design since it is divided into four intimate spaces: the Blue Bar, Main Dining Room, Wine Stables, and the Rail Car. The menu has a nod to English dining, with a modern twist.

We started our meal with the Roasted Beef Bone Marrow with garlic and chili oil and salsa verde served with toasted bread slices.  It is something I would never have ordered myself, but I decided to trust our waiter when he said it was his favorite thing on the menu.  Thank goodness I trusted him because it was fabulous.

For dinner I had Pan Seared Scallops with celery root puree, butter beans, and speck.  The scallops were great but there were more beans than I had expected.

And my husband had Grilled Heritage Pork Chops with sweet potato latkes, apple frisee, brussel sprouts, and pork jous.

Marianne’s

If you enjoy an intimate place to have a drink, rather than a crowded bar, then you’ll want to head over to The Cavalier. The bar has a speakeasy-feel and you’ll want to relax in this old-world ambiance. It is open to the public most evenings, but reservations are recommended.  I wish we had come here for a cocktail, but we were exhausted from our flight and ready to relax in our room.

The S&R Lounge is located in the lounge and hotel lobby of Hotel Zetta.

It is the perfect place to meet up after work or have some cocktails before heading out for the night.  It is such a unique place!

Upstairs is another lounge area with sofas, televisions, video games, a red phone booth, a pool table, and shuffleboard.

The Playroom

The Playroom is definitely the place my kids would want to spend all of their time…and I don’t blame them because so do I! It has the “work hard, play hard” vibe of San Francisco.   Here you can play pool, ping pong, or shuffleboard. My favorite area was the 30 ft. Plinko game wall. There are comfortable plush low-seated sofas and a variety of board games such as Uno or Connect Four. There is a Nintendo WiiU console features over 50 games.  It’s a great place to relax with a cocktail and have some fun.

Want a Workout?

The hotel has a state-of-the-art wellness center with Technogym equipment, ARKE wall and TRX station. Unfortunately I didn’t use the gym since I had the Peloton bike in my room.

A warm welcome to the Hotel Zetta for hosting us on our first night in California. It was the perfect place to relax after a long flight across the country. Your Well & Away room was the perfect way to refresh and a wonderful start to our trip. I can’t wait to bring our girls here the next time we’re in San Francisco.
