I never win anything, so I’m not sure why I ever entered this drawing, but a few months later I got the news that we won four tickets to Blue Man Group in Boston! I was so excited to bring my girls and mother-in-law because we had a blast! The most interesting thing about Blue Man Group is that so many people are so confused at what exactly it is. I thought I’d try to shed some answers to those questions…

Boston is a great city for families every season, but in winter it’s sometimes hard finding things to do that will take up an entire day. There needs to be a good mix of indoor activities along with some outdoor play. Here is an itinerary for a great winter day in Boston:

If you want to do something completely different from any Boston experience, Frost Ice Loft is the perfect spot. When you get to the doors you are dressed in puffy insolated capes and gloves and as soon as the doors open you see (and feel) why. After a few minutes in the acclimation room, you step in and are completely surrounded by amazing formations of ice. It is the only building material for the walls, furniture, bar, tables, and couches. Even your glasses are completely made of ice. The cape is a welcomed accessory since they keep the room at a constant 21 degrees.
If you are in Boston and looking for something that all ages will enjoy, the Boston Museum of Science is a safe bet. It is one of our favorite places and there is so much to do that we never do the entire thing in one day. Our typical visit includes exploring the different wings of the museum, seeing a few shows, and having lunch in the cafeteria. There are so many different things to do that no two visits are ever the same. Here are a few of our favorite things to do:

If anyone deserves to be the leader of this country, it should be the creator of American Girl Dolls because that person is an absolute genius! If you have young girls I’m sure you know all about these dolls because they are a cult for young girls in the US. I am not quite sure what makes this doll so special but they seem to have a magical power over the female gender that convinces you a doll needs a multitude of outfits and accessories. And if you think the company is just about the dolls, you haven’t hit the tip of the iceberg.
If you want happy tired kids that will go to bed as soon as their heads hit the pillow then this is the place to take them! Throughout these three floors your child will exercise their mind, body, and creativity and the best part is you can play right along with them.
Who would have guessed that prison could be so romantic? If you stay at only one hotel in Boston it has to be The Liberty Hotel. It is such a unique experience with spacious rooms and 5 restaurants/bars. This hotel stands where the Charles Street Jail once stood and they have played on that to give you a taste of Boston’s history.
