February Self-Care Roundup
Week 5
Make Time for Stretching
Stretching can help improve flexibility, reduce tightness, reduce stress, and protect your muscles from those fierce workouts you’re doing. Whether you’re doing it before a cardio workout, after a HIIT workout, or right before bed, make some time in your week to add this step to your wellness routine.
For me, yoga is the best way to stretch, so I’ve been trying to take a class twice a week. I love to start and end my week with a class.

Week 6
Pamper Your Hair
Your hair takes a beating with blow drying, straightening, hair accessories, and daily products. Take this week to give your hair a little extra love.
What products have I been using?
Plaine Products Shampoo & Conditioner
Rosemary, Mint, Vanilla scent
These have made a huge change in the way my hair feels. They add hydration, shine and manageability without weighing hair down. It comes in 2 scents as well as unscented, but this one will wake you up in the morning, rejuvenate you, and gets you ready to start your day.
They also have a 2.5 oz travel set.
I have also been using some great styling products.
Mekabu Hydrating Cream
I’ve been using this when I wear my hair curly. It defines my curls and eliminates frizz.
Mekabu Hydrating Shine Serum
I’ve been using this every day. It leaves my hair shiny but not greasy.
They also make a shampoo and conditioner that I can’t wait to bring with me on my next trip. I’ll tell you all about it after I use them.

Week 7
Use an Infrared Sauna
There is nothing better than curling up in an infrared sauna while reading a good book. The sauna heats up to about 100 degrees and you can feel each muscle of your body relax. I go once a week for a half hour since it is included with my yoga studio membership and it is one of the highlights of my week.
What are the benefits?
Better sleep
Relaxation
Detoxification
Relief from sore muscles
Relief from joint pain such as arthritis
Clear and tighter skin
Improved circulation
Week 8
Meditation
I used to think meditation was a waste of time, however, I quickly learned that it feels so good to quiet your mind and focus on things other than my to-do list. Personally, I always do a guided meditation since I feel like it keeps me focused. There are plenty of good ones online. Try a few…
Calm Daily has wonderful 10-minute mindful meditations.
I just began using the meditation room at my yoga studio. It is such a calming place to focus.
At home, I created my own little meditation corner in my gym. It is such a nice place to quiet my mind, especially after a crazy day.
