Palazzo Tower @ Venetian Hotel

(Las Vegas, Nevada)

There’s something exciting about driving down the Vegas Strip and seeing all these legendary hotels looming around you.  As the Palazzo Tower appeared in the distance it screamed Vegas!

The lobby was decorated for Christmas and the huge over-the-top decorations got us in the holiday spirit.

There were glittering trees and enormous ornaments all around us.

Not only were we able to check in early, but we were able to choose our view as well as given the option of doing an upgrade to our room. We passed on the upgrade because we already had a fantastic suite booked.

Let me show you around our suite. We stayed in room 707 on the 31st floor, a

Luxury Two Queen Suite

I couldn’t believe how huge this suite was! There was 720 square feet for us to spread out in, which is not expected when staying in a city.  The suite is twice the size of standard rooms on the Strip. I love that we each had our own areas to relax in.

You walk into the sleeping area of the room and immediately see two comfortable queen beds. The room was tastefully decorated and there was attention to detail.

You’ll want to jump into these luxurious queen size beds with their crisp white bedding and pillowtop mattresses. The comforter was cozy and each bed had four fluffy  pillows. I loved the headboard that went up to the ceiling. As much as you’ll be tempted to lie down, there’s so much to explore in Vegas, so it will have to wait.

The sunken living room separated the suite into two areas.  There was an L-shaped sofa sleeper that was cozy to snuggle up on. There was also an oversized coffee table. The dedicated work desk had a lamp as well as USB ports.  The high-speed internet worked really well.

The room had ceiling to floor windows so there were tons of natural light.  The girls loved that there were remote-controlled Roman shades and curtains.

Our room had a lovely view of the golf course and the mountains loomed in the background. It was beautiful and so peaceful.  Peering out, you forget you are in the middle of a busy city.

There is a dining area in front of the huge window so you can enjoy the view while you eat. There is also a fully-stocked refreshment center.

The 130 square foot bathroom was amazing.  It was large and stunning and if it had a bed, I would have stayed right in here…lol.  There was a dry vanity with a comfortable seat and fantastic mirror to do your makeup and hair. The double-sink vanity was large so we all could get ready at the same time.

The Roman tub was deep and if I had one more night here, I would have enjoyed a bubble bath.  The separate enclosed glass shower was spacious and I love that there was a 22-inch flat screen tv in the bathroom.  It is perfect for when you’re taking a soak in the tub or getting ready. I also loved that it had a private water closet…with a phone it it…lol!

As much as we loved our room, we couldn’t wait to explore the hotel.

After we got organized, we headed down to the main pool to get some lunch.  The avocado toast was delicious and it felt great to eat outside. Music was playing and it had a fun vibe. The pool deck area had amenity-rich cabanas and one of several heated pools.

After lunch we walked across the street to Treasure Island to the Marvel Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N experience.

When we got back to the hotel, we decided to explore more of the Palazzo and the Venetian.  Even if you’re not staying there, it’s definitely worth a look. Take a peek…

One of the most unique sections of the Venetian is this amazing spot that will transport you right to Italy. Dive into the history and architecture of the most famous area in Venice, St. Mark’s Square.

Watch as gondolas sneak under the Bridge of Sighs.

Gaze up at the glorious balconies.

Walk over the Rialto Bridge.

And stare at the Campanile Tower. There is so much attention to details!

What struck us as most fascinating were the ceilings.  You really felt like you were standing outside.

There are other times where you’ll feel just like you’re standing in a cathedral or a grand palace.

If you like art, there’s plenty to see throughout the hotels. Laura Kimpton’s LOVE artwork is a favorite.

The Christmas decorations were in full swing.  Check out this gondola decorated with poinsettias and winter blooms.

So, what can you do at the Venetian and the Palazzo?

Here are some fun things to do without even leaving the hotels:

Take a gondola ride! You can take a ride inside the hotel or outside.

See Streetmosphere: In St. Mark’s Square, watch a variety of performers. Do some shopping (or window shop) in the shops at the Grand Canal.

Minus5º Ice Bar.  We did an ice bar in Boston at Quincy market and this one was very similar.  It’s fun seeing the ice statues and drinking a fun drink out of ice cups. (Kids 12+ are allowed until 9:00)

Madame Tussauds: Teens will love taking tons of selfies at this wax museum.

Virtual Room: Las Vegas. A Vegas VR experience of virtual reality 3D plus the thrill of an escape room.  These are always fun because it allows each person to play a part in getting out.  It’s great team building.

You have endless options for dining while in Vegas.  If you feel like staying close to the hotel.

Here are some dining options right at the Venetian and the Palazzo:

CUT by Wolfgang Puck

Buddy V’s Ristorante

Sushisamba

Delmonico Steakhouse

Majordomo Meat & Fish (Korean)

Matteo’s Ristorante Italiano

Mott 32 (Chinese)

Bouchon

Yardbird

Where did we have dinner?

My daughter was craving sushi and we couldn’t think of a better place to go than Tao. Just looking at the entrance you know you’re in for something special. These pools with petals and candles that line the walls usher you in.

It has a cool vibe with dark lighting, red velvet, and large buddhas looming over you.

I started with a wonderful cocktail called the Zen Garden

(Avion Silver Tequila, Midori Melon Liqueur, Sugar Snap Pea, Cold Pressed Lime, Ginger Beer)

For an appetizer we had Peking Duck Spring Roll with Hoisin Sauce.

Since there were so many things on the menu we wanted to try, we decided to get a bunch of things and split them.  We tried an assortment of sushi and sashimi, Crispy Orange Chicken, and the Pork Potstickers with a Chili Sesame Glaze.

After dinner, it was beautiful to see the city lights from our room.

Safety

We felt so safe in the hotel.  You need a key to go to the elevators and there was a security guard checking to make sure everyone who entered the elevator area had a key.  I would have felt completely safe if I were traveling here alone.

What could you do in the area?

Grand Canyon Helicopter Tour from Las Vegas with Champagne & Light Picnic

Emerald Cave Kayak Tour – Half Day

Red Rock Canyon Sunset Horseback Ride and Barbeque

Grand Canyon West Rim Bus Tour & Hoover Dam Photo Stop with Optional Skywalk

Las Vegas VIP Party Bus Crawl

Fun City Scavenger Hunt in Las Vegas by Operation City Quest

Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend Small Group Tour – Admissions Fee included

Extreme RZR Tour of Hidden Valley and Primm from Las Vegas

Two-Hour Exotic Car Driving Experience Package in Las Vegas

Where to get some relaxation

If the hustle and bustle of the city gets to be too much and you want to escape to a peaceful oasis, head to the Canyon Ranch Spa.  What can you do there? Here are just a few…

Have a spa treatment

Climb a rock wall

Take fitness classes

Acupuncture

Reiki

Skin, nail, and hair services

Salt room

Sauna, steam room, hydrospa

Who would I recommend it to?

The hotel is fun and welcoming and is the perfect place to stay with families.  Since there are many romantic things to do in the area, it would be a lovely place to stay for a couple’s getaway. The number of spas, restaurants, and bars would make it a fun place to spend a girls’ weekend.

Where do you fly in?

The best place to fly into is McCarran International Airport

I like flying into Vegas because you get to see an aerial view of the dessert and the Hoover Dam.  Look how pretty it is!

Tips for Planning your Stay

Parking: There is a great parking garage right next to the hotel with complimentary parking. There is also complimentary valet parking.

Check-in: Be prepared that they will try to get you to upgrade your room when you check in.

The casino part of the hotel felt very smoky.  My daughter’s allergies were pretty bad while we were there.

Room choice? I would definitely get a room with a view of the golf course since it is peaceful.  I would also recommend a room on one of the higher floors for an even better view.

Coffee:  There is a Starbucks in the lobby but in the morning the line can be really long.

There is a 24-hour front desk.
