Maven District Salt Lake City

Maven District Salt Lake City

One of the best experiences I had in Salt Lake City was exploring the Maven District and meeting some of the fabulous strong women who own businesses there. The Maven District Salt lake City is made up of about 100 small businesses and 75-80% are women owned. It felt natural to gather like-minded women together and that is where this amazing concept was born.

They believe in collaboration over comparison. They support diversity, they support women, they support local.

I love that they attract empowered women. As they say, “Our Maven community is made up of doers, thinkers, risk takers, rule breakers, question askers, boundary pushers, explorers and bold humans who aren’t here to settle…”

We left as a group of women that were proud of ourselves as well as each other. Thank you for making such an impact on us. I can’t wait to return with my 2 teenage daughters. Let me show you around and introduce you to some of the business owners we met.

Let’s make some rings with

Erica @thelandofsalt

We broke up into small groups and I was in the group that got to spend a few hours with Erica, from The Land of Salt, creating our own custom stacking rings. We had a blast! Erica taught us how to measure, cut our material, and bend it.

Then came the fun part…soldering it! She gave us such confidence that we could do it and with her encouragement we all soldered our own rings.

She gave them a good cleaning and we were done.

I’m so proud of how they came out and I haven’t stopped wearing it.

We had the pleasure of meeting more creative, mindful, empowering women.

Let me introduce you to them:

Meera from The Juice Shop – @thejuiceshopslc

Owner of The Juice Shop SLC

Meera wants people to feel good and eat well. She believes in balance and that food should taste great as well as be good for you.

“To live this way — to have the focus, the boundless energy, and the fortitude needed to experience the best that life has to offer — requires us to take care of the very foundation of it all: our bodies. That’s why we make juice. We believe that when communities live a life of doing, its members live more fulfilling lives. It’s why we’re obsessed with creating functional food and juices made with organic and responsibly-sourced fruits, veggies, herbs, and adaptogens to feed your body so that you can ignite your life.”

Thank you so much for the delicious juice. I sampled:

Courtney from Lovebound Library – @loveboundlibrary

This adorable book store has a unique niche.  It revolves around romance novels. Courtney started reading romance novels during the pandemic because they always end on a happy note. However, she didn’t like the judgement that is made about the romance genre and then she realized that 60% of book sales in the world are romance. He store is a great place to explore and pick up a stack of books.

Maven Strong (Pilates Studio) – @mavenstrong

This is where it all began. This is not just a gym, it is a safe space, one filled with people who meet you where you’re at and fuel you to fear less and fail more. They created a place for everyone with all intentions and offer tons of support to make sure people achieve their goals. Click HERE to check out the wide range of classes they offer.

Maven Create (Coworking & Event Space) – @mavencreate

Imagine the creativity that will spring forward when you work in this one-of-a-kind space. However, this is not only a place to work, but also a place to thrive. They offer luxury dressing room lockers & showers. Check out this fabulous wallpaper in the locker room.

They have a meditation space, inside/outside sun deck, cozy fireplace, along with access to a luxury fitness studio and a curated group of wellness professionals. The esthetics of this district is gorgeous.  Every inch screams style!

We had a relaxing meditation session while we were there.

Maven District (Hotel & Community at Large) – @mavenslc

I would love to stay at this gorgeous staffless hotel. Decorated like an apartment, you will not feel like you’re in a hotel. Each place has a unique aesthetic with personal details like live plants in each unit. They want you to feel like a local, not a tourist.

Make sure you take in all the fabulous art painted by about 20 paid women artists. I love this mural of women lifting each other up.

Thank you to Tessa and Rocky for spending this wonderful morning with us and sharing this special place. We left feeling empowered, strong, and encouraged to go out and make a change. As always, all experiences are 100% of MyTravelingKids.com.
