Bayfront Marin House at sunset

Bayfront Marin House

St. Augustine, Florida

If you’re planning a trip to St. Augustine, Florida, and looking for the perfect place to stay, Bayfront Marin House should be at the top of your list. This charming bed and breakfast has everything you need for an unforgettable getaway, whether you’re visiting for a romantic escape, a family vacation, or a solo retreat. I was visiting solo, searching for some much needed “Me Time.” I can’t think of a better place to stay since I felt pampered, spoiled, and safe.

Location

Bayfront Marin House is located right in the heart of historic St. Augustine, offering unbeatable views of Matanzas Bay. You’ll be just steps away from the city’s top attractions, including the Castillo de San Marcos, St. George Street, and all the delightful shops, restaurants, and historic landmarks that make St. Augustine so special. Plus, the waterfront location adds a serene vibe that’s perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring.

First impression

From the moment you arrive at Bayfront Marin House, you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into a charming Southern haven. The beautifully restored historic property is full of character, with its inviting wraparound porches, lush gardens, and welcoming staff. You’ll instantly feel at home as you’re greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy, relaxed atmosphere.

So many options for accommodations…

Choose a Room or Suite at their Historic Bed & Breakfast…

Their downtown St. Augustine inn, Bayfront Marin House, is located directly across from the Matanzas Bay in the heart of the historic district. All 17 rooms at the inn have private bathrooms. You’ll also find luxurious amenities like soaking tubs for two and electric fireplaces.

You can also stay at their Vilano Beach Cottages.

Stay in one of their eight beachfront vacation rentals but still have access to parking and amenities at the Main Inn.

The Beachcomber Cottages on Vilano Beach consist of two raised beach houses and two Caribbean-style homes that are located just steps away from the Atlantic Ocean. Guests that stay at our beachfront cottages are invited to breakfast and happy hour at the Bayfront Marin House, just 2.2 miles away.

Finaly, stay at one of their Downtown Rentals

Relax in private apartment-style accommodations near the Main Inn, for easy access to Old Town.

Enjoy private Airbnb style lodging, but you’ll never have to question the cleanliness or validity thanks to their professional innkeepers! Plus, all guests who stay in their private units are invited to enjoy breakfast and happy hour at Bayfront Marin House, and are welcome to use their parking lot nearby and cruiser bikes – all complimentary!

Let me show you around my room.  I had the pleasure of staying in the main inn.

#14, the Governor White Room

I was immediately shocked at how large the room was! I walked in to an entryway that contained a huge armoire with two mirrors.  Luggage carriers allowed me to store my suitcase and carry-on so they didn’t take up space in the room. Recently renovated, the Governor White room boasts the most modern amenities matched with an elegant, historic charm.

Located in the original 1790′s section of our hotel in Saint Augustine, Florida, this room offers a comfy king-sized bed, hardwood floors, and stunning stone work.

Bedroom at the Bayfront Marin House

Each room is uniquely decorated, featuring plush bedding, antique furnishings, and modern amenities like free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs. The room had a refrigerator, which was perfect for chilling a lovely rosé I bought from San Sebastian Winery in town.

The room has a cozy sitting area that transforms into a convenient twin daybed full of fluffy pillows. The daybed has a twin with trundle, allowing this room to accommodate 4 people. I loved the electric fireplace above it.

The room had a wraparound coach that is perfect for sipping your morning coffee while taking in the breathtaking bay views.

Thank you so much for the welcome treat.  It was delicious and I loved enjoying it on the deck!

I loved the dining area in the room.  It was a nice place to relax as well as get a bit of work done.

My bathroom was beautiful and had a glass bowl sink and an amazing shower. Did I mention it had 5 shower nozzles?  It also had lots of water pressure,

Let me show you around the grounds

There were so many lovely spots to enjoy the inn. The hammock would be a wonderful spot to read a book or take a nap at the end of a day exploring St. Augustine.

The gazebo and small tables are a great spot to have breakfast. You can mingle with other guests or settle in to a corner by yourself.

I love the individual spaces the inn gives each room. Private nooks with chairs and tables you can call your own.

Happy Hour!

The inn gives you your own private happy hour each day! They send you a text and you can choose what time you would like to have it delivered to your room. I enjoyed their fresh pimento cheese sandwich, and sweet treat. They also have a variety of beverages to choose from including red or white sangria, chardonnay, cabernet, white zinfandel, and a selection of beer.

Don’t forget to get your steps in while here

While there isn’t a fitness center on-site, the property’s central location makes it easy to stay active by walking or biking around the historic district. The scenic waterfront paths and is great for a morning walk or a leisurely bike ride.

Time for dinner

The hotel is within walking distance to so many great restaurants that it’s hard to decide which one to choose. On my way to dinner, I loved seeing the inn lit up in string lights.

Make sure you wake up for the sunrise!

After a wonderful night’s sleep, I couldn’t wait to head over to the bayfront and watch the sunrise. Mother Nature was showing off this morning.

I could have watched the sunrise right from my balcony if I didn’t feel like getting out of my pj’s.

Time for a delicious breakfast

One of the highlights of staying at Bayfront Marin House is their famous breakfast. Each morning, you’ll be treated to a homemade, made-to-order breakfast that can be enjoyed in the dining area, on the porch, or even delivered to your room. I devoured their peach passion bake, yogurt with fresh raspberries, and hot coffee.
