Blue Heron Beach Resort

We just got back from an amazing few days at the Blue Heron Beach Resort in Orlando, Florida.  Cait, at the front desk, was so helpful and made check in a pleasure.  We arrived before check-in and they were still working on our room so we decided to go get something to eat.  Cait took down our phone number and then later called us to say our room was ready.  On the elevator we were pleasantly surprised to see you need to use your key to access your floor.  I love extra touches when it comes to security.

Check out our suite

Our suite was a Two Bedroom Deluxe Suite.  At 1,261 square feet, it was so spacious that we had more than enough room to spread out.  The suite was located on the 19th floor and when we got out of the elevator we gasped when we saw our view of Orlando.  When we entered our suite I was shocked at the amount of space.  There was a lovely  living room, kitchen, dining area, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and an extra room with bunk beds.

This view!

We were surprised to see our view was even better from inside because it overlooked  beautiful Lake Bryan.  The hustle and bustle of Orlando seemed miles away as you sat on your balcony.  The view at night was amazing because it was a full moon and you could see the twinkling lights of Orlando.  One night we heard loud bangs coming from outside and suddenly huge fireworks were going off right on the lake.  They were amazing.

The master bedroom had a king size bed and sliding glass doors that led to the balcony. There was a large attached bathroom that had double sinks and a jet tub.  The bathroom was enormous.

The second bedroom had two twin beds that were very comfortable.  The room was large and very welcoming. It was located next to the second bathroom.second bedroom at Blue Heron Beach Resort

Finally, there was a bunk bed in a small room off the corridor. We were not expecting this room and the extra space was perfect.  My youngest daughter loved that she had her own room with a bunk bed.  As if that was not enough, the sofa could also be converted to a queen-size bed.

POOL

There are three pools at the Blue Heron.  Our favorite was the large one  that overlooked the lake.  The pictures on the website do not do the pool justice because it is huge.  A nice touch was the resort had noodles and balls in the pool for kids to use.  There was a fun poolside bar and plenty of seating.

There is also another smaller pool.  It is always heated to 78 degrees so even on chilly days you can go for a comfortable swim.  It has a pretty view of the lake and was never very busy.  The pools are all open from 8:30 am until 11:00 pm, which is great so people can swim after spending a long day at a theme park.

For younger kids, there is a pool that is two feet deep.  There is seating around it so parents can sit and relax while their kids are playing.

RESORT GROUNDS

The resort has a breathtaking walkway by the lake that winds between mossy trees and lily pads.  We loved walking down there late in the afternoon and we saw turtles, large fish, and even a bunny.  It was such a peaceful section of the property.

We had the most amazing time at the Blue Heron Beach Resort.  The staff goes out of their way to make you feel at home.  They are always ready with a smile.  The resort is located near all the major attractions, but the serene lake it resides on makes you feel like you are far away from the crowds.  We will definitely be returning the next time we are in Orlando.

A warm thank you to the Blue Heron Resort for having my family as guests of your hotel.  As always, my experience and opinion are 100% my own.
