The Palms Hotel and Spa

Miami, Florida

After decades of traveling, I was finally going on my first cruise.  The ship went out of Miami and since I decided to come in the night before, I was excited to find a hotel that would really wow me.  The Palms Hotel & Spa was the perfect place to call home for the night! Since it is in the heart of South Beach, the location cannot be beat.

The Palms has 251 newly renovated guest rooms with city views, partial ocean views, and ocean views. The front desk and bellman made a wonderful first impression of Miami.

Let me show you around my room.

I stayed in an Oceanfront King

The first thing you’ll feel when you walk into the room is the fun tropical vibe made from the light and dark tropical woods, colorful fabrics, and carpeting that is designed to mimic the ocean floor. It made me feel like I was in the Caribbean without feeling like a theme.

The room had a wall to floor window that flooded the room with natural light.

The room had an incredible view of the hotel’s tropical gardens, pool, and the breathtaking blue water of the Atlantic Ocean.

My room had a comfortable king bed with 400-thread count Egyptian cotton sheets that sit on plush Posturepedic pillow-top mattresses and the pillows were amazing. The room had everything I could need to make me feel at home. There was a 55” flat-screen tv, a Keurig coffeemaker, and an ironing board and iron. The Wi-Fi worked really well and we never had any problems with it.

I loved the sitting area in the room.  It was a nice place to relax and enjoy coffee.

The room had a refrigerator so you can store snacks and beverages.

My bathroom was small but beautiful and had an amazing rainfall shower.  It had lots of water pressure, which is rare in rainfall showers. The hotel provides comfortable robes and a hair dryer. It also has BeeKind toiletries, which I love.

Unfortunately, because of delayed flights, we weren’t able to see much of the hotel. However, even at night the view from my room was lovely.

I’d have to wait until the next day to see all the beautiful spots in the hotel.

There’s one perk to not being able to sleep in when I’m traveling…getting to see the sun rise. The best part of my room was I didn’t even have to get out of bed to enjoy it.

I started by making myself a cup of coffee to enjoy in the sitting area of my room.

Good morning, Miami!

Since I was up early, I could enjoy the hotel before having to go to the cruise ship dock. Let me show you some of my favorite spots.

Beach

The hotel has a private beach gate that leads to one of Miami’s widest stretches of beach.

The beach is gorgeous.  The sand is powdery and goes on and on.

It is also located near the city’s newly paved beachwalk. Ok…let’s head back to the hotel.

Tips for Planning your Stay

Parking: There is ample complimentary on-site parking as well as valet parking

Check-in: 4:00 Check-out: 11:00

Room choice? I would definitely get a room with an ocean view.  I would also recommend a room on one of the higher floors because they have better views

They offer daily house cleaning services.

There is a 24-hour front desk.

Fitness room: The hotel has a 24-hour fitness room that has treadmills, a stationary bike, elliptical cross trainers, and free weights.

The restaurants and bars in the hotel close at 10:00, which was a bummer.
