Rhumb Line Resort
The Resort
The Rhumb Line Resort is located one mile from downtown Kennebunkport and one mile from Walker’s Point. It is an easy drive if you are venturing out. (There is also Uber, as well as taxis, in the area.) The resort is on the trolley route, which is a fun way to get to town. It is located close to some beautiful Maine beaches. The wooded area around the resort makes for a quiet atmosphere that’s perfect for relaxation.
Our Room
The resort is in the process of renovating all of their rooms but they have spanned it out over the next few years. Therefore, the rooms could vary depending on which one you request. Our room was spacious and comfortable with two double beds. I loved the bedding and the pillows were amazing. I wish I could have bought one. (I’m obsessed with finding the perfect pillow and this one came pretty close!)
Our room had a private balcony with a table and two chairs. It was a nice place to have a glass of wine in late afternoon and my daughter liked to take her book out there and read in the morning.
Pool Area (Inside)
One of the things that makes me most when I book a trip is anticipation of bad weather. I love when a resort offers both an outdoor and indoor pool (which is very rare). That way, if it is chilly or rainy…no problem! The inside pool was large and very clean. The actual room was very warm, which was a little too warm for me but I think it would be very comfortable in winter. We swam inside for about an hour but then since it was such a nice day we decided to go outside.
Pool Area (Outside)
Since we had perfect summer weather while we were there, we spent both afternoons by the pool. The hotel leaves you pool towels in your room and there are plenty of chairs and lounge chairs. Some tables are set up in the pool area so you can eat your meal poolside. The pool was very clean and had 3-foot, 6-foot, and 8-foot areas. With cocktails and snacks available next to the pool area, it was a comfortable way to spend our afternoons.
My girls had so much fun playing in the pool.
Admiral’s Table
The resort is known for its “Downeast Feast.” It includes a lobster, steamers, corn on the cob, clam chowder, potatoes, and cole slaw. It also serves grilled foods such as burgers and hotdogs. It offers frozen cocktails and cold beers and is a great place to grab some snacks when you are by the pool. If you feel like you’ve had enough outdoor time, the Admiral’s Table will deliver it right to your room.
Breakfast
The resort offers a complimentary continental breakfast. It offers a variety of yogurts, cereals, pastries, bread, fruit, coffee, juice, and milk. My family doesn’t need a huge sit-down breakfast and this one was an easy way to start our day without having to leave the resort.
