Viewpoint Hotel
(York, Maine)
There is something soothing about the ocean. The smell of salt in the air, the breeze blowing on your skin, and the calming sound of waves crashing on the shore makes you feel present. The coast is my favorite place to visit when in Maine. I couldn’t think of a better place to escape before the madness of end-of-school-year activities. The Viewpoint Hotel is a stunning little piece of paradise with unimaginable views. I decided to bring my high school daughter along with me and it was the perfect place for us to relax and recharge.
Where do you fly in?
The best place to fly in is Portland International Jetport (PWM).

First impression/ check-in
The hotel texts you the code to your room so you can let yourself in when you get there. My daughter’s first impression was it didn’t feel like a hotel, but more like a rental home. It was so comfortable and homey that we immediately relaxed.
Let me show you around our suite.
We stayed in room 102, a
We were so impressed with the size of the suite… 1,022 square feet! The cathedral ceilings made it feel even larger. The room was decorated with a modern coastal feel, without overdoing it. They incorporated hints of nature like wooden side tables, artificial plants, sponges, and succulents.
There is a large living room/dining room area with a queen sofa bed, large coffee table, and lots of pillows and decorations.
The gas fireplace gave the room a cozy feel and I love the wooden shelves. It made it feel like we were at a friend’s house instead of a hotel.
Peek at the kitchen
You know I love to have breakfast in my room when I’m on vacation. There’s something special about breakfast in bed in cozy pj’s. This suite had everything you’d need to make a delicious meal. It has a refrigerator/freezer, Keurig coffee maker, electric cooktop, convection/microwave oven, toaster, and dishwasher. There was also cookware, dinnerware, and utensils. There is a comfortable dining area with seating for 4.
There was a desk area that can be used as a work station, or as a bar. How great is this chair?
Half bathroom
There is also an adorable half bathroom on the first floor.
Get ready for this surprise!
Look… a washing machine and a dryer! What a treat to be able to wash your clothes right in your room. This is wonderful when you’re traveling as a family, or even solo because it allows you to pack lighter. They even provide an iron and ironing board.
Let’s head upstairs to the bedroom
The bedroom had a very firm king bed and plenty of pillows. The crisp white bedding, white walls, and wood accents gave the room a clean, bright vibe.
The window provided a frame for Hubble Light House.
There is a full bathroom up here!
The bathroom has an amazing shower with white subway tiles and a tub. They provide toiletries, a blow dryer, and cozy towels.
Now let’s take a look outside…
We’ve got to take about THIS VIEW!
Our suite had a large covered porch overlooking the beautiful Atlantic Ocean and Nubble Lighthouse. There were 2 chairs and a table, making it the perfect spot for a morning cup of coffee or a glass of wine at sunset.
Pool
The hotel has a large outdoor pool with a gorgeous view of the majestic Nubble Lighthouse. The pool is saltwater and heated. I can imagine how amazing it would be to take a dip while looking out at these gorgeous surroundings.
Yard
The property around the hotel is filled with lovely spots to enjoy some time outdoors. One of my favorite spots are the view from these Adirondack chairs.
I also love this area where you can lie back on these chaise loungers and take in all the beauty.
There is lots of space to play lawn games or have a picnic.
The hotel is stunning and the landscape and stonework reflects the rugged coast of Maine.
Look at how beautiful the hotel looks from the lighthouse.
Nubble Lighthouse
You must visit Nubble Lighthouse while staying at the Viewpoint. It has its own charm in every season. You’ll often see visitors fishing, having a picnic, playing in the grass, biking to it, painting or photographing the lighthouse. You may even see some adorable harbor seals that love to peek out of the water.
