Hotel Concord
Concord, NH
Tucked away in the heart of the charming city of Concord, New Hampshire, The Hotel Concord is the perfect blend of modern comfort and New England charm. From its inviting atmosphere to top-notch amenities, the Hotel Concord is the perfect destination in the picturesque Granite State. As the end of the school year approaches, the craziness begins, so it was a wonderful time to do a solo getaway. The Hotel Concord was just what I needed.
Let’s head inside…
First impression of Hotel Concord
The hotel is a 38-room boutique hotel situated in the Capital Commons Building. The lobby is on the first floor, and rooms are located on the 4th and 6th floors. Each room is a different size and shape – a purposeful departure from the standard “cookie cutter” hotel room.
The lobby is a soothing and inviting space where hotel guests are welcome to relax. The wood floors, leather couches and modern fixtures encourage you to linger. I love the high ceilings. Personal touches, like jars of Lindt chocolate, are a nice touch.
There is also a coffee station, which encourages you to make yourself a cup of something warm while you relax in the sitting areas.
Let’s head up to my room on the 6th floor.
On my way to my room, I walked through one of the Executive Lounges. This area offers guests a place to unwind, read, or work in comfortable seating.
Let me show you around my room.
I stayed in a
Terrace King with State House View
My room was absolutely beautiful and I was surprised at how large it was! The room was modern and sophisticated, with personal touches that gave it so much charm.
You’ll want to jump into this luxurious king size bed. I love the blue accent wall and decorative throw pillows. The rug is a lovely focal point.
And who doesn’t love chocolates on your pillows?
This adorable nook is a great place to store your suitcase (ok…and maybe all the bags you’ll have from shopping on Main Street…but don’t tell my husband.) so it is out of the way.
I love that the furniture looks like built-in pieces, so it has more of a “home” feeling rather than a hotel. There was a refrigerator inside it, which was a great place to store beverages. The barn door that leads to the bathroom gives it charming New England ambiance.
The room had a Keurig coffee bar with a selection of coffee and tea, including flavored coffee (which you know I love!) I also loved the stylish swirled glass drinking glasses.
This sitting area is a wonderful place to snuggle up with a book at the end of the day.
The room included a flat-screen HD television with premium movie channels. There is a well-lit workspace with multiple USB charging ports, a chrome desk lamp, and a comfortable chair.
There is an open California-style closet, that also holds the ironing board, steam iron, and safe.
You’ve got to see this balcony!
The balcony off of my room was the best place to enjoy the amazing May sunshine. There was a table and chairs to enjoy the view.
My room had a lovely view of charming Main Street.
There was also a great view of the New Hampshire State House.
As well as the beautiful New England architecture around town.
Check out this fun building across the street!
My bathroom
The spacious bathroom was huge and had an elegant feel. The large walk-in glass shower had sleek black tile and chrome fixtures, including a hand-held shower wand. The floor was a beautiful black, grey, and white marble. The bathroom had sustainable, American-made luxury toiletries by William Roam, and they provide a blow dryer.
The hotel provides plush towels and robes, and even includes slippers. It was such a nice treat because so many hotels I have been staying at have not had robes and I love to snuggle in them at night and in the morning when I get up.
Let’s explore Concord!
Since the hotel is in such an ideal location, I loved that I was able to park my car in the garage and walk to all the places I wanted to go. Some of the adorable shops I went in to included:
Concord Antiques
Penumbra
Gibson’s Book Store
Teatotaller
Pitchfork Records
My last stop was Red River Theatre
Red River Theatres is a not-for-profit arthouse cinema located on the lower level of the Capital Commons building. The seats recline and are really comfortable. What did I like best about the theater (besides the great movie I saw?) Wine!! Yep…you can buy wine there!
Good morning!
After an amazing night’s sleep, I lingered in bed for a while because the sheets and pillows were so comfortable. I couldn’t believe how quiet the hotel is, especially since it is right on Main Street. I never heard a door slam in the lobby and there was no street noise. I finally dragged myself out of bed and put on one of the most luxurious robes I’ve ever worn in a hotel. It was heaven!
I made myself a cup of vanilla coffee and headed to the patio to enjoy the fresh morning air.
Breakfast at Hotel Concord
My first stop of the day was grabbing breakfast. They offered eggs, bacon, sausage, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal bars, bread and pastries.
I noticed there was a bar in here, which I didn’t see yesterday.
Feel like a workout?
The gym is open 24 hours a day and is equipped with the latest cardio machines and weight-training equipment. Since I knew I’d be walking all around Concord today, I skipped my morning workout.
Time to say goodbye to Hotel Concord
I checked out (sadly) and they held my bags for me as I explored the area some more. I headed to the New Hampshire State House.
It was so beautiful both outside and inside.
I also went to the Historical Society.
On my way back in, I stopped on the 4th floor to see their Executive Lounge area. It was just as inviting as the one on the 6th floor.
What do the lights mean on the building?
The Hotel Concord continues the tradition of keeping local citizens and guests informed of the weather with its own lighting atop the Capital Commons building. They use the same color codes as the rhyme the Berkeley Building (commonly known as the Old John Hancock Building), uses.
Steady blue, clear view
[Dashing] blue, clouds due
Steady red, storms ahead
[Dashing] red, snow instead
They also take requests for unique colors and lighting schemes to commemorate community causes, special occasions and other events.
Hotel Restaurant
O Steaks & Seafood, one of Concord’s most popular dining destinations, is conveniently accessible for lunch or dinner through the hotel lobby. Guests are invited to enjoy contemporary American cuisine, such as barrel cut filet mignon and day boat scallops, and may charge the bill to their room. Reservations for O Steaks & Seafood may be made through the Concierge. Click HERE to peek at their menu.

The hotel is casual and welcoming and is the perfect place to stay with families. Since there are many romantic things to do in the area, it would be a lovely place to stay for a couple’s getaway. The number of spas, restaurants, and bars would make it a fun place to spend a girls’ weekend.
