RiverWalk Resort at Loon Mountain
Lincoln, New Hampshire
With one daughter at camp and one working, I was able to slip away for a solo getaway in the stunning White Mountains of New Hampshire. Lincoln is a quaint New England town that is fun during all four seasons. I’ve been looking at RiverWalk at Loon Mountain for years and I was so excited to finally get to stay.
Let me show you around my suite.
I stayed in a
One Bedroom Deluxe Studio
I was so excited when I walked in to the suite when I saw how huge it was! You enter into an open-concept of a kitchen and living room area.
It had a comfortable couch that was a queen pull-out bed, which would be wonderful for families. The high ceilings made it feel even larger. I love that there was a door leading out to the balcony so you don’t have to disturb someone sleeping in the bedroom.
There is a dining area that is perfect for enjoying a meal if you decide to stay in for the night.
The suite also had a full kitchen that had everything you would need to make some meals in your suite. I love making breakfast in my room and enjoying it in my pj’s before I get started with my day. The full-size refrigerator, microwave, stove, and dishwasher make you feel like you’re at home.
My bedroom felt huge because it also had a cathedral ceiling and a great ceiling fan. The comfortable king bed and pillows were amazing. There was a flat-screen tv and plenty of storage. The room had lots of natural light because of the large sliding glass door.
My favorite thing about the suite
My suite had a private balcony with a beautiful view of the mountains and the vineyard planted behind the resort. I spent so much time out there because it was so peaceful.
My bathroom was a nice size and had an amazing glass shower. There was plenty of counter space and they give lots of great smelling toiletries.
As much as I loved my room, I couldn’t wait to explore the grounds. Let me show you what I did on day 1.
Look at this incredible pool!
Since I knew the rain was coming, I decided to make the lagoon pool my first stop. The pool is HUGE and you can not beat the view as you enjoy soaking in the sun.
The cauldron fountain sits center stage and fires up at night as waterspouts spray out in all directions.
There was plenty of seating around the pool and lots of spots to give you a change of scenery.
There are even several cabanas guests can use.
Want another pool option?
The upper deck pool starts inside and then expands outside. The water is heated year-round so you are always comfortable, regardless of the weather. Just walk down the steps into the heated pool inside, sneak through the curtains, and get outside without the water ever changing temperature.
What a waste of a pool in winter. Think again…
During the cold winter months, their outdoor lagoon swimming pool transforms into an ice skating rink for guests to enjoy.
Hot Tub Time
Mother Nature had other plans for my pool time and the thunder and rain really started coming down. I moved inside and spent a little time in the indoor hot tub. The large, deep tub is so relaxing with an amazing view of the mountains through the floor to ceiling glass windows.
I decided to make myself a nice cup of tea, grab my book, and relax on my balcony. It was so nice listening to the rain drizzling down while staying dry.
Let’s Get a Flight at Rhythm Studio @ Lincoln Shops
For lunch, I decided to head across the parking lot to check out Rhythm Handcrafted Beverages Studio @ Lincoln Shops. Their Rhythm craft beverages are all made at Seven Birches Winery and poured as tasting flights and by-the-glass, only steps from the winery. I love their rustic décor and it is the perfect place to buy picnic supplies. I ordered a tasty cider flight. The blueberry cider was my favorite and I even bought some to bring home.
I also enjoyed a delicious charcuterie board filled with local goodies. The smoked maple syrup was unforgettable!
There is an easy trail that starts at the vineyard and continues along the river.
It is a lovely place to go for a walk, run, or mountain bike ride. It is relaxing to hear the river rushing beside you. It is a calm, peaceful way to enjoy part of your day.
Winery Time
After spending some time back at the pool, I decided to have a wine tasting at Seven Birches Winery Tasting Room. You can either have your tasting inside the tasting room
but I decided to have it on the porch overlooking the pool and mountains. I was given a set of tasting notes to read and decide on what five wines I wanted to sample.
This a truly unique and enjoyable way to experience some of New Hampshire’s finest wines.
After dinner from a local Thai restaurant, I headed back to my room to settle in for the night. Did I tell you my room had a soaker tub in it? I was so excited to use it and I even brought bath salt and a face mask to have a home spa treatment. It was so cool because there was thunder and lightning happening and since I dimmed the lights it was neat to see the flashes of light outside. It was a relaxing way to end the day.
Good Morning
After an amazing night’s sleep, I decided to start my day with a cup of coffee on my balcony.
The foggy mist over the mountains made it so peaceful and calm. It looked like a postcard.
My first stop was the gym.
I love that the treadmills overlook the vineyards so you get a workout with a view.
There were also lots of hand weights that allowed you to get the workout you want.
The Lovely Grounds
I decided to get some fresh air and take a closer look at the vineyard. There are lots of lovely places to sit near them.
It’s interesting to read about the different types of grapes they’re growing.
It’s lovely to walk the trail while looking at the mountains and wild flowers.
The resort really is stunning from any angle.
Game On!
The resort has a fun game room which families will love. There are arcade games, a pool table,
Foosball table, and claw machines. They have a change machine, so don’t worry about bringing change.
I headed back to the pool for one last swim.
And some time in the outdoor hot tub. The crescent shaped hot tub can hold 12 people at a time with the jets taking away the pressures of your adventurous day.
I couldn’t get enough of this pool!
Can’t Forget the Spa
The last thing I wanted to do before leaving the resort was get a little pampering so I headed over to the Solstice North Day Spa. They have lots of ways to relax with plenty of treatments including massage, facials, manicures, pedicures, and foot soaks. I booked a Sole Revival. Get there early so you can spend some time on the porch enjoying the view.
When I got there I chose my scent and relaxed in warm water while looking at the vineyard while listening to calm spa music.
I chose a tea to match my mood. I also added a massage and pumice treatment to the soak and my skin felt amazing afterwards. It was the perfect end to my stay.
La Vista Italian Restaurant
If you are looking for an amazing meal, you don’t have to even leave the resort. One of the main features of La Vista is the wood fired pizza oven offering some very unique flatbread pizzas, appetizers, and delicious entrées.
Owner’s Lounge
If you have ownership at RiverWalk, there is a lounge you can use. It has a pool table
and a large television to watch games or do a family movie.
There are plenty of spots to play games. It’s a great spot to entertain.
Create Memories
Around the resort, there are lots of things to entertain guests and allow them to create lasting memories. There is a bocce court, and cornhole boards. There are also gas grills and picnic tables for families to use. They offer seasonal activities such as pool volleyball games and poolside movies.
