There is an air of sophistication and charm throughout the property. The hotel has 180 luxurious guest rooms and suites, each designed to provide a sanctuary of comfort and style amidst the bustling cityscape.
Let me show you around my room.
I stayed in room 1904, an
Archer King Empire View
Ok…I know I usually go right into what the room looks like but I can’t because you HAVE TO SEE THIS VIEW!!!
The Archer King Empire View guest room provides floor-to-ceiling windows with a stunning view of the Empire State Building and the NYC skyline.
The room is intimate and luxurious, with wood floors, exposed brick, and five-star bedding. It had a comfortable king bed with a white goose feather down duvet and the pillows were amazing. I love that they give you a selection of firmness levels for your pillows so you can choose the ones that fit you best.
There was a flat-screen tv with premium channels, and an ironing board and iron. The Wi-Fi worked really well and we never had any problems with it. I like that it had a laptop-size safe, because some safes are way too small. The room also had phone chargers and even had an umbrella that you may need for New York weather.
The room had complimentary water bottles and some candy treats in the room, which was a nice touch.
It is the personal touches that make you remember certain hotels. I love that they included these books in the room.
The room also had a refrigerator so you can store snacks and beverages.
Check out this chic bathroom
Love the classy black and white subway tile. The walk-in shower had great water pressure and the water heats up quickly, which was a welcome treat after walking around the city all day. It is the perfect size to comfortably get ready each day.
They offer full-size Malin+Goetz bath amenities. The shampoo was scented peppermint and the conditioner was cilantro. The best part are the ridiculously cozy Frette bathrobes and comfortable slippers.
Thank you so much for the welcome treat. It was delicious!
Let’s explore the city!
On my way out I noticed this beautiful sitting area off the lobby.
I headed out for the afternoon and since it was a beautiful day I was thrilled to be able to walk to all the places I had planned. My first stop was Sushi Lab. Have a seat at the bar and watch the fabulous chefs work their magic.
Next stop was the Museum of Broadway. If you have an interest in theater then this place is a must.
I decided to have a cocktail before I went to see a Broadway show and there was no better place than back at the hotel at the Spyglass Rooftop bar. You can’t beat the unbelievable view of the Empire States Building. I had the best Tiramisu Martini. (bumbu crème, absolut vanilia, white chocolate liqueur, espresso)
From there, I made the quick 15-minute walk to see Moulin Rouge.
The hotel is close enough to Times Square that you are near the action but far enough so you can enjoy the peace and quiet.
Even though I was exhausted from my day of exploring the city, I decided to head up to the rooftop for a glance of the city skyline at night. Since it was St. Patrick’s Day the Empire State’s Building was lit green.
I headed back to my room and couldn’t believe the view out my window. This is the best nightlight in the city.
Goodnight NYC.
I began my morning with a Nespresso coffee as I took in the skyline. Can you imagine a better view to start your day?
If I didn’t already have a coffee in my room, I would have stopped at the bar in the lobby to get a latte.
My first stop of the day was the New York Public Library.
Next stop was St Patrick’s Cathedral.
My next stop was MOMA, the Museum of Modern Art.
My final stop was to the Top of the Rock. What a great place to see a 360-degree view of NYC.
I walked through Bryant Park, which is right around the corner from the hotel. It’s a beautiful spot to people watch.
Back at the hotel, I went back up to Spyglass Rooftop Bar, on the 22nd floor to have a cocktail at the bar. This rooftop bar, inspired by a bygone era of sophisticated elegance, offers panoramic views of the city skyline, making it the perfect spot to unwind with a craft cocktail after a day of sightseeing. I recommend trying the Tequila Honeycrisp (tres agaves reposado tequila, spiced apple cider, lemon, honey)
The view of the Empire States Building from the outdoor patio was stunning tonight.
I hadn’t talked to my family today, so I decided to have a meal in my room while we FaceTimed. I had the delicious Spyglass Burger and I love when I asked for them to leave off the bun, they gave me lots of lettuce leaves to use instead. The burger was topped with pork belly, runny egg, sharp white cheddar, arugula, tomato, caramelized shallot demi-glace, dijonnaise, and included fries. It was beyond good.
Before I settled in for the night, I headed down to the AKB, located on the first floor of the hotel, to enjoy a glass of wine.
This beautiful bar, framed by a canopy of Edison pendants, has lots of sofas and tables and is a perfect place to gather.
Goodnight NYC. Thanks for a second fabulous day!
After another amazing night’s sleep, I made a Nespresso while snuggling up in the comfort of my room. Cozy robe, delicious coffee, and this view…a perfect way to start my last day!
