Sonesta ES Hotel, Burlington, VT
Summer is quickly running out so we were thrilled to have the opportunity to spend some time at the beautiful Sonesta ES Suites in Burlington, Vermont. Having gone to college in Vermont, it has always been one of my favorite states and I couldn’t wait to share it with my girls! The location of the Sonesta can’t be beat since it’s close to the airport, as well as Stowe, Sugarbush, and Smuggler’s Notch. Since there are 96 spacious suites at the Sonesta, it is a wonderful destination for families looking to get away. The staff was so welcoming at check in and we appreciated the welcome bag filled with Vermont treats.
We were so lucky to be given a Two Bedroom Loft Suite with a fireplace. It was HUGE and we all appreciated the space we had to spread out in our 900 square-feet.
The girls were thrilled to have their own bedroom on the first-floor. They had two double beds and their own television. It was brightly decorated in yellow and light blue tones.
They were also excited to have their own bathroom. It had a bathtub/shower and a large vanity. It also had plenty of shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel.
I had my very own bedroom on the second-floor loft area. Even though I was right above them, I felt like I was having my own private getaway since the entire loft area was mine alone.
My room had a king size bed with such a comfortable mattress and four amazing pillows. It had simple wood furnishings and a cheerful yellow color throughout. I also had my own television, which came in handy when I stayed up later than they did.
I also had my own bathroom! It had a tub/shower, and plenty of vanity space. It was nice to be able to spread my own products out.
Our suite had a living room with a pullout sofa bed, in case you need more sleeping areas, but we didn’t use it.
The living room was such a colorful room with contemporary paintings on the wall. They had wood furniture with blue paint on it and there was even a fireplace. It would be nice to come back to a warm fireplace after spending the day skiing.
It also had a fully equipped kitchen that really had everything we needed to make our own meals. They really thought of everything including silverware, serving dishes, wine glasses, etc. This is a great option for families that want to stay under budget when traveling. It included a coffee maker, cook-top stove, oven, microwave, toaster, dishwasher, and full-sized refrigerator. It was nice to be able to chill a bottle of wine and put some fruit and healthy snacks in the fridge.
The suite had everything you could need to make yourself at home. There was a work desk and high-speed internet. It also had an iron, ironing board, hair dryer, laundry basket, alarm clock, and a large flat-screen tv.
POOL: The Sonesta has a beautiful indoor heated pool where we spent some time at the end of every day after exploring Burlington. The pool was the perfect temperature and we loved playing Marco Polo and splashing around. There were chaise chairs and tables around the pool and towels were provided.
There is also a whirlpool that looked inviting.
The hotel had a room off of the lobby with a large television
and plenty of sitting areas.
If you want to get a good workout while on vacation, the Sonesta offers you a great place to do so. There is a 24-hour fitness center, including free weights, weight machines, treadmills, stationary bicycles, and more.
The Sonesta offers a delicious complimentary breakfast buffet. They had both hot and cold options and we were pleasantly surprised with how many choices they offered. They offered eggs, sausage, pastries, oatmeal, cereal, fruit, and yogurt.
Breakfast is offered Monday-Friday 6:30am- 9:30am.
Saturday-Sunday 7:00am- 10:00am.
Since I always seem to forget something when we travel, I love when a hotel has a 24-hour shop for snacks, candies, beverages, ice cream, frozen foods, essential toiletries and more.
