Legend has it that this island helped inspire Treasure Island, and once you’re there, it’s easy to see why — hidden coves, dramatic rock formations, and clear turquoise water everywhere you look. The island itself is uninhabited, which gives it a wild, untouched feel, but the anchorages are lively and social, especially in the afternoons.

Moorings at Norman Island: What You Need to Know
Norman Island has National Parks Trust (NPT) moorings, and they are first come, first serve so you cannot reserve them in advance.
The Bight (main anchorage)
This is where most boats moor overnight. There are a large number of mooring balls, but they do fill up quickly during peak season and holidays. Arriving by early afternoon is your best bet.
Snorkeling at The Caves
Snorkeling at The Caves is one of the top experiences on Norman Island. The caves are easy to access from the boat, and the water is usually calm and incredibly clear. You’ll swim past schools of fish and into rocky caves, including one deeper cave that you can swim all the way through — which feels like a mini adventure without being intimidating.
It’s active, a little thrilling, and way more exciting than snorkeling off a beach, making it perfect for older kids and teens.
Willy T’s: The Floating Legend
No stop at Norman Island is complete without a visit to Willy T’s, the famous floating bar anchored in The Bight. Built from an old tugboat, Willy T’s is equal parts quirky and iconic. During the day, it’s surprisingly family-friendly in vibe — teens love the novelty of climbing around the boat and watching people jump off the upper level into the water.
 It’s one of those places that feels like a rite of passage on a BVI catamaran trip, and it’s especially fun as a short afternoon stop before dinner.
Dinner at Pirates Bight Restaurant
For dinner, Pirates Bight is the go-to spot on Norman Island. Located right on the beach, it’s easy to dinghy over from your boat. The restaurant has a casual, open-air setup, with and a relaxed pace.
