Review of Atlas Coffee Club

One of my favorite things about travel is experiencing the different cultures, and a great way to do that is through local food and drinks.  One thing I always try to do is start my day with a cup of local coffee.  It’s amazing how different they can all taste.  Since we are practicing social isolation, it is sad to think that our adventures abroad are on hold.  With Atlas Coffee Club, you can experience delicious coffee from countries all around the world while learning all about what makes that country unique.   Their coffee is curated and procured from all around the globe, so you can take lots of adventures without leaving your kitchen.

What do I love about Atlas Coffee Club?

When you subscribe, you get to choose the amount you get each month, how often you receive it, your roast preference, and your grind type (ground or whole bean). All of the coffee they source use sustainable farming practices. I also love how fresh their coffee it.  Their team roasts every morning, with each batch of coffee being roasted often within hours, if not minutes, of being shipped out.

What comes in each box?

A curation of the world’s best single origin coffee.

Coffee & postcard from a new country each month.

Tasting notes & brewing tips for each batch.

Your personalized preferences, on your schedule.

Renting a Lake House During COVID-19

10 Things to Look for When Renting a Lake House

After so many months of self-isolation, many people are hoping to salvage some sort of normalcy and go on a summer vacation with their family. Many people are not crazy about the idea of going to a hotel and being surrounded by other people.  So what could be the solution? A lake house! Are people renting lake houses? Absolutely! We own a rental property on a lake and we were worried that everyone would cancel their reservations for this summer.  Not only has no one canceled, but we even have 6 families on a wait list. It’s a great alternative to a hotel because you have your own space and don’t have to worry about being in contact with people other than your family. If you are looking to rent a lake house, there are some things you need to consider. I wrote this article a few summers ago and have updated it with specific tips about COVID-19.

  LOCATION

Location can make or break a trip.  There are lots of things to consider.  Is the house on a quiet bay or on a channel where boats will constantly be going by? Is it lakefront, lake view, or away from the water but with lake access? It’s also good to know a little about the lake itself.  Is the house located near a sandbar that’s know for it’s crowds? You may want to ask how close the neighbors are.

Review of Penny & Grace Jewelry Subscription Box

I absolutely LOVE jewelry and it is so fun to switch them around depending on my outfits.  I was so excited to work with Penny & Grace, a jewelry subscription box that has the CUTEST pieces of jewelry that is exactly my style!  Every month you receive three curated pieces of jewelry tailored to your color/metal choice.  I was so excited when I saw the package in my mailbox.

What do I love about this box?

Travelers will love their jewelry because they are versatile and will go with everything, so you won’t need to pack many.  Their pieces were beautiful, with a simple, classic design.  I like that they customize your look by taking their quiz and selecting your jewelry preferences. Then you can browse and customize your first box.  After that, you’ll be surprise by all the fun pieces they choose for you. If you change your mind about the type of pieces you want to get, you can simply change your preferences.  I love that their jewelry is authentic and unique.  In fact, all of their jewelry is designed in house and manufactured by them, which is rare.

What did we get?

Each monthly order comes neatly packed in their signature faux leather clutch.  They are beautiful and I can’t wait to use the clutches when I travel.

Then, each piece of jewelry is placed in a separate soft jewelry bag.

We were so happy to receive not one…but two boxes!

Review of Eat2explore

Like many of you, our family is so upset about having to put a hold on all of our travel plans.  I’ve been spending this time ‘virtually traveling’ by experimenting with new meals and cocktails from different countries. Eat2Explore, a cooking subscription box, is the perfect way to do this.  Since we are all at home practicing social isolation, it’s a great time to try new activities and create lifelong memories with your family.

I love that the creators of this box have the same beliefs as I do.  They feel mealtime should be an experience and cooking are life-skills everyone should have.  They also feel hands-on cooking and culture explorations is even more important in today’s world.  My daughters and I had so much fun cooking with this box.  I even played French music while we were cooking.

What do I love about this box?

I love that there are three different exploration options.  The first choice is to explore a country (1 or 3 countries).  You could also choose to explore a continent (4 countries).  Finally, you could choose to explore the world (12 countries). With every package, you will receive a new country box each month.

Review of Chef Free Subscription Box

Although my children do not have any allergies, many of their friends do.  In fact, my youngest daughter was in an allergy classroom for the last two years, so we became very familiar with the struggle of her friends trying to find meals that are both delicious and safe for them to eat.  Chef Free Club is a wonderful subscription box that focuses on empowering kids both in and out of the kitchen.

What do I love about Chef Free?

  1. This box teaches kids essential skills such as reading labels, self-advocacy, and communication.
  2. Helps them establish a healthy relationship with food by encouraging them to keep trying new foods that are safe for them.
  3. Invites kids to join a community by getting them to interact with others through sharing tips and advice.
  4. Motivates kids to spread awareness by empowering them with a positive voice for educating others.
