Review of Chef Free Subscription Box

Although my children do not have any allergies, many of their friends do.  In fact, my youngest daughter was in an allergy classroom for the last two years, so we became very familiar with the struggle of her friends trying to find meals that are both delicious and safe for them to eat.  Chef Free Club is a wonderful subscription box that focuses on empowering kids both in and out of the kitchen.

What do I love about Chef Free?

  1. This box teaches kids essential skills such as reading labels, self-advocacy, and communication.
  2. Helps them establish a healthy relationship with food by encouraging them to keep trying new foods that are safe for them.
  3. Invites kids to join a community by getting them to interact with others through sharing tips and advice.
  4. Motivates kids to spread awareness by empowering them with a positive voice for educating others.

What age is Chef Free designed for?

Chef Free is designed for kids ages 4-14.  The box can be used by the entire family, and depending on their skill level, they can become quite independent with it.

What comes in each box?

A kid-friendly kitchen tool

3 photo-assisted, step-by-step recipe cards

Educational material including a skill tutorial, review games, and activities

Skill mastery reward stickers for certification tracking

Free-from friendly food samples and other fun surprises

What recipes came in ours?

MOON CAKE

This cake was delicious and my 13-year-old made it without any help.  The box provided dairy-free chocolate milk.

And mini allergy friendly chocolate chips

The recipe included a fun instruction to put baking soda and vinegar into a “moon crater” to watch the reaction.

I love that it uses hands-on learning so cooking is both educational and fun.

The result was so delicious and my daughter decided to add some extra mini chocolate chips as well as white chocolate chips to the top. The whole family enjoyed eating it last weekend.

ROCKET KEBABS

I can’t wait to buy some fresh fruit when I grocery shop this week.  It will be a fun, healthy snack the girls can make in the afternoons.

POTATO SAUCERS

We are starting to get run out of ideas for side dishes, so this recipe couldn’t have come at a better time.  These will make a yummy side to the pork roast we’ll be having.

What kitchen tool did we get?

We received a kid-friendly knife as well as three plastic skewers.
