This place is hands-down the weirdest place we’ve ever been to…and we LOVED it! Every room was odder than the last one and you experience hysterical sensory overload as you go from room to room. There are so many crazy, unexpected items in this museum that I don’t even know where to start. How about if I take you on a little tour of some of our favorite moments?
Blue Heron Beach Resort
Why would you want to crowd your whole family into a tiny hotel room when you can stay at a resort with 2-3 bedrooms, fabulous pools, and more than enough space for everyone to spread out? My family just returned from a trip to Orlando and we had the pleasure of staying at the Blue Heron Beach Resort. The staff was so kind and we felt like we were in a home away from home. Click below to read my full review of this amazing resort.
What’s in My Travel Bag?
When my girls were toddlers my travel bag weighed a ton. I carried supplies for three people…I was their Sherpa! When they got a little older I discovered my new best friend…a kid backpack! Suddenly they were carrying their own stuff and I had my travel bag all to myself. What do I keep in this magical bag? Here’s a peek…
St. James Club, St. Lucia
My family and I had a lovely time at the St. James Club on the gorgeous island of St. Lucia. This all-inclusive resort has several gorgeous pools, a private golden sand beach, and many tasty restaurants.  Click below to read my full review:
Royal by Rex Resort
While in St. Lucia, my family had the opportunity to stay at the Royal by Rex Resort. It was a piece of paradise on this beautiful island. My only regret is not having stayed longer since the beach, pools, and staff made us feel so at home. Read my entire review below…
St. Lucia
My family and I just returned from an amazing week on the gorgeous island of St. Lucia. The island is so different from many Caribbean islands we’ve visited. Rain forests, volcanos, charming fishing villages, and gorgeous beaches are just a few of its amazing qualities.Â

Taking Your Kids Out of School for Vacation
I’ve discussed in the past how I feel it is completely fine for parents to take their kids out of school to travel. In fact, I encourage it if it is the only opportunity for them to travel. I recently had the opportunity to work with a wonderful blog called The Traveling Gals. They are three generations of women who love travel, Disney, healthy eating, + the occasional glass of wine. How great is that? I’d love to share their blog that I collaborated with them on. Check them out…

Mystic Aquarium
It is hard to imagine going to Mystic, Connecticut without a visit to the Mystic Aquarium. It is an amazing place to see sea creatures in indoor and outdoor exhibits. There are many hands-on activities that will keep you entertained for hours. You could also take in a sea lion show, watch feedings, or experience a 4-D movie.Â
Mystic Seaport
It is easy to be overwhelmed when you walk into Mystic Seaport because there is so much to see and do in this 19th century seafaring village. As you walk through this town you are transported back in time. The village is made up of dozens of buildings that are staffed with people playing the roles of wood carvers, shipsmiths, coopers, printers, and many more. They are so knowledgeable and they encourage you to ask questions and participation. Some of our favorite areas included:
Need Inspiration to Head to the Beach?
As March rolls around I start feeling the urge to escape to a tropical island to sink my toes in the sand and jump in the waves. Tempted? Here are some pictures that may inspire you to pack your bags:
