Review of StitchyBox

Since we are all at home practicing social isolation, it’s the perfect time to pick up a new hobby or take the time for yourself to do a craft you love. Self-care is so important during times like this and art is the perfect way to focus on you.  I have been trying lots of new art projects such as wood burning and painting, and it has been wonderful setting some time in the afternoon to have some tea and do a craft. I was happy to work with StitchyBox, a subscription box that caters to all things involving cross-stitch.  I haven’t done any cross stitching in years, so I was excited to pick it up again and my girls were excited to try it out.

What comes in each box?

This company has so many options.  I was given one of their countdown boxes, and they even have several options for that:

Seasonal Countdown box: 30 stitching goodies

Small Batch Countdown box: Features more specific themes like mermaids, unicorns, Quaker samplers, dogs, cats, and many more.

Color Countdown box: mini versions of their standard countdown box that contain 15 goodies.

There are also many monthly subscription options such as

Collector’s Club (hard-to-source thread), StitchyBox Samplers (charts and kits) and many more.  Take a peek:

What did we get from StitchyBox?

SPRINGTIME COUNTDOWN BOX

It includes 30 hand-selected stitching goodies, individually wrapped, so you can open one each day over the course of a month.  It included thread, fabrics, embellishments, and charts.  We felt like we were opening our Advent Calendar! A gift each day is a wonderful way to start your day.  Look at how fun this is!!

WARNING…THERE ARE SPOILERS ABOUT THE SPRINGTIME COUNTDOWN BOX!!!

Here are some of our favorites from this box:

Ceramic bunny bead

Mother of pearl leaf beads

Powder pink fabric

Dragonfly focal

Asfour lead crystal faceted drop

Dragonfly charm

Butterfly charm

I love that it gives simple patterns so beginners can learn from it, as well as more complex patterns for the more experienced. They included a free pattern called Welcome Spring.  I already bought my fabric, thread, and hoop and I can’t wait to get started on it.

What is the cost of the subscription box?

Subscription box prices vary depending on which box you choose. The Springtime Countdown box was $65
