Walking into Discovery Cove is like walking into a Caribbean island with tropical music playing, palm trees swaying, and dolphins jumping out of lagoons. It is a paradise and you will never know you are in the middle of Orlando. It is not a theme park AT ALL, but rather a tranquil oasis where you can lounge around all day. We were there from 7:00-5:30 and time flew by.
When we arrived, we were given a quick tour and then brought to the restaurant for breakfast. There was so much food on our plates that none of us could finish it. It was delicious and I love that it is included since it’s one less thing to think about planning during your day. In fact, I was surprised at how few decisions I actually had to make.
We were then shown our private cabana. We could not wait to see what was behind this gate.
Our cabana was a piece of paradise and I would have been happy staying in there all day!!!
Just look at how amazing it is! Your own hammock, table with chairs, chaise loungers, ceiling fan, refrigerator, and locker.
The best part was our cabana overlooked the dolphin lagoon!!! We loved watching them swim around and interact with the trainers.

And practice their jumps!
Swimming with dolphins has been on my bucket list since I was a little girl and we were so lucky to have the opportunity to finally experience it.

Being able to get a ride from the dolphins was a once in a lifetime experience.
There was so much to do all day!
THE GRAND REEF:
This is the perfect location for families to snorkel together without having to worry about being in an ocean. There were schools of fish swimming around you and colorful man-made reefs that you swim over.

- Swimming with stingrays
There are even sharks to swim with. HAHA…just kidding…they are behind glass. However, when you are snorkeling it looks just like they are in the pool with you.
There are lots of areas to view the fish from above.
WIND-AWAY RIVER:
This spot will make you forget you are in a water park. Float away and let your worries disappear. You can go under waterfalls, swim through a cave, or float through the aviary.
FRESHWATER OASIS: Watch the otters as they scurry around in their enclosure. You will feel like they are swimming with you as you snorkel up to their glass.
EXPLORER’S AVIARY: Enjoy hand-feeding birds in this aviary.
SERENITY BAY: You can relax in the sand or go for a swim in this calm area.
Cost: An all-inclusive package is $260 per person.
A 30—minute dolphin swim is included in your package.
Hungry? Breakfast, lunch, and unlimited snacks and drinks are also included.
Although you may be thinking it is an expensive day, you also get
admission to SeaWorld and Aquatica!
That’s three parks for the price of 1! If you think about a day at a theme park, consider how much you pay for tickets, food, drinks, and activities.

Tips to a Great Day at Discovery Cove
Discovery Cove provides animal-safe sunscreen and snorkel gear.
There are lockers and changing facilities in the park.
You need to wear either a wetsuit or a vest to go in any of the water activities. We did the vest since it was easy to take off when we were in our cabana.
You can not wear ANY jewelry when you swim with the dolphins so leave it at your hotel or put it in a locker before you go to your meeting area.
If possible, buy the professional pictures. You’ll want to preserve those memories.
If a family member is not swimming with dolphins, they can take your pictures from outside the lagoon.
If possible, book your swim for early afternoon. Morning swims looked really cold!
