Newstead Belmont Hills Golf Resort & Spa
Lounging at the edge of an infinity pool, looking down at the crystal blue water of Hamilton Sound with the lovely harbor of Hamilton looming in the distance. This is what dreams are made of and the Newstead Belmont Hills Resort and Spa is the perfect place to make this dream come true. The Newstead is the perfect mix of sophistication and warmth. It is a gorgeous hotel to stay at and because of its central location it is a great place to come home to after a day of exploring the island.
It was complete relaxation as soon as we stepped onto the property. Because we had a snorkel tour and had to catch our boat in Hamilton at 9:45, the resort welcomed us to leave our bags with them and take the complimentary ferry over to Hamilton to meet our boat. They assured us that our bags would be waiting in our room when it was ready. This level of customer service is what makes you remember a resort. Check in was quick and informative. Look at how gorgeous the main lobby is!
Take a peek at our suite
The resort has 45 studios and family-friendly suites to choose from. We were so pleased to be placed in a one-bedroom suite. This spacious suite contained a master bedroom with a lovely king size bed and comfortable linens. The pillows were so soft it was hard to get out of bed in the morning. The room also had a work desk, a flat-screened television, and an easy chair.
French doors led to the lovely veranda.
Our bathroom
Walking into the bathroom of the master bath felt like you were stepping into a spa. A jetted whirlpool tub called to you after a long day of walking around the island.
It also had a large glass-enclosed shower with powerful water pressure.
Our living room
The suite had a living room area with a full-size pullout couch, so the room could comfortably sleep four adults. The room had high end wicker furniture, wood floors, double glass French doors, and a flat-screened television. There is even a second bathroom.
Look at this amazing view!
Our favorite part of the suite was the enormous terrace that overlooked Hamilton Sound. The terrace had a dining area where we ate our room service dinner on our first night. There is also a lounge area where we enjoyed cocktails one afternoon. The view from the Newstead Belmont Hills Golf Resort is incredible!
Just look how breathtaking it was at 6:30 am!
Kitchen
A great feature of our suite was the kitchen. There was a dining area as well as everything a person would need to make some delicious meals in their room. It had a refrigerator, stove, microwave, and dishwasher. It also had pots, dishes, wine glasses, pot holders, and utensils. It even had a coffee maker, toaster, and a blender. What else could you need?
Pool Area
The pool was my favorite part of the resort. Just look at how beautiful it is!
There was a large sundeck that always had plenty of comfortable chaise loungers. The hotel offers towel service and they even provide terrycloth covers for the chaise.
The pool was an amazing place to watch the sunset!
We couldn’t get enough of the pool and were still swimming 20 minutes before our car came to take us to the airport.
Pool bar
One of our favorite features of the pool area was the pool bar. It is the perfect place to have a famous Rum Swizzle or Dark & Stormy and lounge your day away! If you’re hungry, it offers some amazing fresh salads and sandwiches.
There are plenty of spots around the resort to relax, read a book, and enjoy the view.
The resort has a 24-hour fitness room that features cardio machines, weight machines, free weights, benches, and yoga balls.
Water Ferry
One of the biggest treats we had was the use of the free water taxi provided by resort. We used it to go to Hamilton one afternoon and it was an easy alternative to a taxi.
Hamilton Harbor
A lovely 5-minute ride gets you to the main ferry terminal of Hamilton Harbor. This is the perfect way to get there for shopping, dining, and exploring of the fort. Make sure you click here to check the schedule since it is seasonal. It also gave a lovely water view of the resort.
Spa
If you want some pampering while on vacation, the Newstead Spa is where you’ll want to head. The Asian-inspired spa offers a wide range of services and healing therapies. We had the most amazing Swedish massages here the morning we were leaving.
Beau Rivage
If you are looking for an unforgettable dining experience, this is the place to be. Chef Garzia was awarded the Meilleur Ouvier de France (Franc’s highest honor for a chef) as well as French Chef of the Year in 1998. You can enjoy a spectacular sunset and a memorable meal here on either the outdoor terrace or inside in the elegant dining room. We chose to sit outside since the weather was perfect this night.
We began our meal with bruschetta made with tomato, mozzarella, and basil and vegetarian spring rolls served with sweet chili sauce.
Next, we had a delicious crab appetizer that was compliments of the chef.
Our main course was a lobster risotto.
For dessert we had a lovely Irish coffee and a chocolate tart.
Sanzibar
This tapas and burger bar is a stylish spot to have some amazing cocktails and great food. The bar offers 14 unique burgers that all looked delicious. We stopped in here at the end of both our nights to have some wine.
