Fourways Inn
If you are looking for unique accommodations while traveling to Bermuda, you have to check out the Fourways Inn. Because it is centrally located, it is a wonderful place to call your home while you do day trips throughout the island. Built in 1727, Fourways Inn has become a classic piece of Bermuda’s history.
Instead of a tradition hotel building, the inn features a cottage colony, with 11 units to choose from so you feel like a small community rather than just another room in a hotel.
Since it has so few units in their cottage colony, you never feel overwhelmed by a crowd. It’s perfect for when you want privacy or relaxation since there are times you will feel like you are the only ones there.
I love that moment when you are being shown your room for the first time and have no clue what to expect. My room was called Sea Venture.
The Fourways Inn was generous to give my friend and I our own rooms since we were traveling for a relaxing getaway without our kiddos, and it was wonderful to have our own space. Sea Venture was a Deluxe room and it was everything I needed to start my vacation off right. The room was spacious and impeccably clean. The bed was so comfortable
and it had a microwave, small refrigerator, desk, dresser, and nightstands.
The room included lots of extras like a blow dryer, flat-screen tv, and even cozy bath robes. The bathroom had a separate shower and a 2-sink vanity.
One of my favorite parts of the room was the terrace that overlooked the gardens of the pool area.
A perk about staying in a smaller place is the extra attention they can pay their guests. The Fourways Inn does a wonderful job with individual attention. Every day you choose what time you would like breakfast and you place it on your door under this adorable hook.
The next morning, at your chosen time, THIS is what they bring so you can enjoy it on your terrace! Warm pastries, fresh fruit, coffee/tea, and a local newspaper is a delicious treat. It was the most peaceful way to start my day!
The well-maintained colorful gardens throughout the property immediately offer a peaceful oasis that makes you relax. There are statues and water features tucked into corners.
Imagine getting married here!
There is even a lovely courtyard near the restaurant.
The inn has a freshwater pool and I love that all the cottages are nestled around it.
The pool area has covered sections for when you want to get some shade and the tables would offer the perfect place to have a meal.
Bummed that the Fourways Inn doesn’t have a beach? No worries. Guests can head over to the Coco Reef Beach Resort and use their beach. It has amazing chair-side service, so you can sip on some cocktails as you soak in the sun. The Coco Reef provides you with towels, lounge chairs, and umbrellas, so it is the perfect way to spend an afternoon.
Dining at the Fourways Inn is truly a memorable experience. Bermuda is known for its cuisine, and this restaurant is one of the best on the island. Although it is classy, with the live pianist and candlelit tables, it is warm and welcoming, and families would feel comfortable eating here.
The menu is French cuisine alongside island flair. They use only the freshest seasonal ingredients. For example, the fish is caught daily and herbs are gathered right from the property. We had a wonderful meal here on our first night. We started with tuna tartar.
One night we had the chateaubriand. The other night we had a steak special and we both agree it was one of the best steaks we had ever eaten.
For dessert, crème Brule was the perfect way to end the meal.
If you like Irish coffee, the presentation of this drink is unforgettable. They heat the whiskey and gracefully pour it from glass to glass. It was quite the show!
If you’d like an after-dinner drink, head on over to the bar.
It reminded me of a quaint European inn.
