Get a Cloud 9 Spa Suite
These suites give you priority spa reservations, unlimited use of Thermal Suites plus a free scrub kit, two complimentary fitness classes per guest, exclusive discounts on treatments during port days, and cozy use of bathrobes and slippers in your cabin.
Get a room with a balcony
Although it costed a bit more, I absolutely loved having a balcony in my cabin. I loved being able to sit outside in the morning and enjoy a cup of coffee while I read a book. I also loved having a glass of wine while sitting out there and Facetime my family each evening.
Sing at Piano Bar 88
We had so much fun singing along with Keith each night at the piano bar. We laughed until we had tears and you’ll feel like a superstar as you belt out familiar tunes. Make sure you come with plenty of song suggestions. Hint: Want a specific song? Attach a few dollars to your song request and it will let you jump the line. It’s a fun way to tip.
Head to the Serenity deck
This adults-only retreat is a wonderful spot for people over the age of 21. It is a great place to escape from the screaming kids that are splashing around by the main pool. Just keep in mind that these spots are in high demand so make sure to get there early to secure a spot. It has its own bar and hot tubs so it’s a fun place to hang out.
Book a massage at the spa!
I started off my day at sea with an amazing massage. It was the perfect way to start the day.
Relax in the Thermal suite in the spa
Talk about a relaxing place to hide on the ship. The Thermal Suite has warm reclining seats that allow you to get enveloped into bliss while looking out at the horizon. Hint: There is a cooler in the room that has cold towels that you can put over your eyes…heaven! Another hint: If you have a Cloud 9 Spa suite you get unlimited access to the Thermal Suite!
Have a frozen drink at The Atrium Bar
There are so many fun frozen cocktails that you can sample throughout your vacation. We loved asking other passengers what they were drinking. Hint: Their frozen drinks come with candy straws. It was so cool at the start of the trip but by day 3 I would have loved an actual straw. You may want to pack a metal straw.
Dine in the Main Dining Room
I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious the food was in the dining room. I don’t know why I pictured buffet meals, but there were actual sit-down tables. The room is elegant, the staff do fun dances, and the menu is different each night. We even sampled some unique cuisine like alligator, frog legs, and escargot.
Buy the beverage package
Having the drink package will save you from thinking about how much drinks cost. It is also a great way to budget because you really get a lot for a low cost. I love that you can use it on non-alcoholic drinks.
Have a laugh at Punchliner Comedy Club
The comedians were absolutely hysterical! They were crude…but in a funny way. Be prepared for inappropriate laughs. They offer comedy shows for families as well, so check the schedule. Hint: get there early if you’d like a good seat since it’s a popular attraction. There is a bar at the comedy club but if you don’t want to wait in long lines you might want to bring one in from another part of the sip.
De-stress in the saunas at the spa
Carnival Sunrise has a hot sauna with an incredible view.
They also have an infrared sauna/salt cave. It is the perfect place to decompress and indulge in some much-needed self-care.
Watch the dancing waiters at dinner
You will love all of the staff in the main dining room and you are in for a treat when they perform. Make sure you leave a big tip… they deserve it!
Get a latte from JavaBlue coffee shop
I loved getting an espresso or latte every morning and getting an iced chai in the afternoon.
Get out and explore at port
The best part about a cruise trip is they travel to a variety of destinations, giving you the opportunity to explore new places and cultures. Make sure you get out and explore the local area around port. Have a cocktail, do some shopping, and sample some of the local cuisine.
Get a clam shell at Half Moon Cay
Half Moon Cay was so much fun. The beach is very sunny and there is little spots where there was shade. Reserve a clam shell so you have somewhere to get out of the sun. Hint: If you want quiet, ask for a clam shell towards the end of the beach.
Enjoy a Pre-Dinner Cocktail at the Alchemy
Alchemy has creative cocktails that you will love. We met there every night to chat and try new cocktails. Ask the bartender for a recommendation for something new.
See the sun rise over Miami at port
I got up early on my last morning and went up to the top deck to watch the sun rise over Miami. It was one of the best things I did. It was the perfect way to end my trip.
Get water delivered to your room
For only about $5 you can have a case of water delivered to your cabin. That was a no-brainer. You will have water on hand for when you’re in your cabin, to carry around the ship, and to bring with you on excursions.
Bring a bottle of wine on board
You are allowed to bring one bottle of wine on board with you. I loved being able to pour myself a glass each night and drink it on my balcony while I relaxed before dinner. Hint: Don’t forget to bring your own corkscrew.
Book an excursion through the ship
Our catamaran/snorkel excursion was one of my favorite things we did. It felt great to get off the ship and do something fun with your friends. The ship offered lots of different excursions so there was something for everyone. Hint: Book your excursions early because they sell out.
