Perfect Gifts for People Who Love to Travel

My favorite way to Christmas shop is sitting by the lit Christmas tree at night, wearing cozy PJ’s, sipping on a glass of wine, and watching a cheesy holiday movie.  No crowds…no searching for a parking spot…no stress.  I’m so excited at how everyone reacted to all my gift lists this Christmas and was thrilled to hear it helped make your shopping a little easier. Here is a recap of all the lists in one spot so you can quickly finish up your shopping.

HAVE A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Tea Runners Subscription Box

Tea Runners Subscription Box

On chilly New England mornings, I love to put my tea kettle on the stove, wrap a soft scarf around my neck, then settle down with a steaming cup of tea while I write.  It’s my morning ritual and it sets the tone for my whole day.  I also love to have a cup of tea right before my kids get home from school.  Whenever possible, I let myself have a half hour to read a book and enjoy some tea before the afternoon gets crazy with homework, sports, and making dinner. I find it resets my day.  I love to try new teas, but I seem to always go back to the same ones.  Tea Runners is a monthly tea subscription box that makes new choices for you and delivers them right to your door.

Life doesn’t always happen the way you want it to and sometimes even when you’re in paradise, you can get sick. I wish you could just snap your fingers and feel better, but it’s not that easy. However, there are some things you can do to help your recovery, or at least make yourself more comfortable.

Here are 10 things you can do when you’re sick while traveling:

Stowe Mountain Lodge

Vermont will always have a piece of my heart since it is where I went to college and also where my husband and I met.  It is the place where it all began.  As I drove through the towering mountains, all just starting to show off their autumn colors, I felt like I was running into an old friend that I didn’t realize I’d missed.  Let me tell you all about my perfect solo-getaway!

Newstead Belmont Hills Golf Resort and Spa

Newstead Belmont Hills

Lounging at the edge of an infinity pool, looking down at the crystal blue water of Hamilton Sound with the lovely harbor of Hamilton looming in the distance.  This is what dreams are made of and the Newstead Belmont Hills Resort and Spa is the perfect place to make this dream come true.  The Newstead is the perfect mix of sophistication and warmth.  We were so happy to spend the last two days of our vacation as their guests.

Red Jacket Beach Resort

For my family, there’s nothing better than a beach vacation to start off our summer.  Cape Cod is one of our favorite places because it gives you the perfect amount of action and relaxation.  The Red Jacket Beach Resort is one of five gorgeous Red Jacket resorts in Yarmouth.   It has a perfect oceanfront location overlooking Nantucket Sound. It has everything a family could want such as a beach, an indoor and outdoor pool, a Kids Club, onsite restaurant, and family activities.  With a resort like that, you may be tempted never to leave it.  However, the best part about staying at a Red Jacket resort is you can use all the amenities of all five resorts! It’s makes planning your vacation so simple!

Grand Hotel, Ireland

Grand Hotel

When my best friend told me Malahide was one of her favorite towns in Ireland I knew we had to see it for ourselves.  The location cannot be beat!  This beautiful seaside town is right outside of Dublin and just 15 minutes from Dublin International Airport.  Make sure to explore Malahide Castle and Gardens during your visit.  It’s the perfect location to head into Dublin, see the sights, and return to the peace and quiet of Malahide. The Grand is a gorgeous historic hotel built in 1835 and had been modernized and upgraded throughout the years without losing any of its charm.  Since it is on the water as well as within walking distance to town, The Grand is THE place to stay in Malahide.

Bunratty Castle Hotel

The Bunratty Castle Hotel is a wonderful place to stay after flying in to Shannon Airport since it is only fifteen minutes away.  It’s a great introduction to driving on the left side of the road without overwhelming you.  Bunratty is a quaint Irish town with colorful buildings and kind locals. Since I can’t sleep on a plane (ugh…even if it’s overnight) I was thrilled that a room was available for us so early in the morning.  We were all in beds, asleep, by 7:00 am.  A few hours of sleep were all we needed before going out to explore our first taste of Irish culture.
