Creating Our Own Candle at Sky Candles Company

At Sky Candle Co custom candle bar, you are able to create one of a kind candles and diffusers from over 50 fragrance choices! It is such a fun, unique experience that would be perfect for date night, a girls’ night, solo day, and more. Since there was no school that day, we turned it into a mother/daughter day in Boston. Creating our own candle at Sky Candle Co was a great experience to do with a teenager!
Let me show you how much fun we had!
First step was to smell all the scents they have on display and choose a few that you love. The choices were endless!
You can decide which scents (up to 3) you would like to have blended. After your scent is created, they give you a sample. If you think it’s perfect then you can move on but if it’s not quite right you can play around with it some more. The staff is super helpful at giving suggestions and helping you find an amazing blend. We ended up choosing Frosé, Currant, and Grapefruit Zest.
You can then create a label for your candle. My youngest daughter chose our name…lol.
Next, you get to choose your jar.
They have a wide variety of colors and finishes. Apply your label and you’re ready to fill.
Apply your wick to your jar and make sure it is centered and secure.
Next is the fun part. Using the 3 scented oils we chose, we created our blend, stopping often to make sure we were getting the right balance of scents.

Added the wax, gave it a stir, and made sure our wick was centered.
How did it turn out?
Our candle arrived a few days later and we LOVE how it turned out! It smells incredible and looks beautiful in the kitchen. I love looking at it and thinking about the fun afternoon in Boston we spent together.

Are the candles clean?
All of their candles are made with 100% American-grown soybeans and with lead-free cotton wicks for an eco-friendly clean burn. They thoughtfully source all of their ingredients to create safe and sustainable products that are phthalate-free, petroleum-free, cruelty-free, and never tested on animals.

Sky Candle Co donates 10% of their profits to local animal rescue. Their company is named after the founder’s French bulldog rescue, Sky.
How much does it cost?
Standard custom candle $50
Large custom candle $65
Custom diffuser $60
How long does it take?
The process of the candle bar and shop is about 30-45 minutes. Once your candle is poured, it will need to set for 2-3 hours before it is ready to go home (Their reed diffuser options can be taken with you immediately). You can also have it shipped to your home for a $7 fee.
Tips for a great day
Walk-in guests are always welcome and may explore the candle bar and browse the shop while waiting for a seat at the candle bar.
They recommend you make reservations. Please note that you must reschedule or cancel your appointment within 48 hours of your time or risk losing your payment.
