Why would travelers like Dinnerly?
As much as I love to cook, I have to admit that some weeks my life gets crazy and I would love a little help. This week I was in full planning mode for our trip to Portugal, and there would have been lots of ‘breakfast for dinner’ meals if Dinnerly wasn’t there to save me. It’s also a great solution for when you return from your trip and haven’t gotten back to reality.
Dinnerly is a meal kit made for people who like cooking at home, at affordable prices, and without having to shop for all the ingredients. So, pour a glass of wine, pull up your recipes, and enjoy cooking a great meal.
It’s so impressive to open the box! Look at all you get.
I decided to separate the ingredients and put them in a bag with the recipe so I just had to grab it when it was time to cook.
What do I love about Dinnerly?
They are all 30-minute simple meals.
Instructions were simple enough that my girls could make alone.
My husband and I are trying to eat low-carb, and it was easy to modify the recipes for us.
You get to select your meals and delivery dates.
They give nutritional information.
The separate the meat from other ingredients.
They use fresh, quality ingredients like grass-fed ground beef and antibiotic-free chicken.
You get digital recipes that you can either print out or read right off your device. No waste!
How much does it cost?
About $4.40 per adult-sized serving.
How were the portions?
There were certain meals I don’t think would have been enough for a family of 4. I probably would end up making salads and a side for our meals.
So, what meals did we cook?
MINI MEATBALL LETTUCE WRAPS
This meal was delicious and so much fun to make. My 11-year-old helped me make it and she loved preparing the sauce and rolling the small meatballs.
The fresh ground ginger we used made the meal delicious.
The kids put the rice in their wraps, but we left it out of ours.
The meatballs were sweet, but also spicy, and it was fun to use lettuce as the wrap.
Since we were not eating the rice, I also made a side salad and grilled asparagus for us.
BBQ PULLED PORK PIZZA
I had a late lunch, so I wasn’t going to be eating dinner, so my daughters offered to make themselves this pizza. They were able to make it without much help from me.
They marinated the pulled pork
and shred the fresh mozzarella.
They LOVED the dough and did a great job spreading it all out.
It looked delicious and there was enough for leftovers the next day.
MISO-GARLIC CHICKEN
This meal was one of my favorites! I love carrots and brussel sprouts and roasting them really brings out their flavor.
The miso and chili sauce marinade were so good and the vinaigrette that you toss with the vegetables is light but tasty. I also decided to use honey instead of sugar.
My husband was traveling for work and my girls were both eating at friends’ houses, so I had 3 days of lunches left over.
