Before the Women in Travel Summit, I had the opportunity to spend the night in Freeport, Maine with 6 other travel writers from across the country. I could not have been more thrilled that the Harraseeket Inn would be hosting our stay. Having stayed there with my daughters once before, I knew we would be in for a treat! As always, the inn did not disappoint.

The location of the Harraseeket was perfect walking distance to our fun activities around town.
This time I stayed in a DELUXE KING WITH FIREPLACE AND WHIRLPOOL. The room was huge and so welcoming! The bed had a lovely quarter canopy bed with luxurious linens and pillows.
The room had a fireplace, air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, and cable.
The private bathroom was enormous and had lots of amenities, as well as a whirlpool tub.
The inn provided us with lunch and after taking one look at the buffet, we knew that we’d have to order it! The brick oven is a perfect backdrop to the buffet. There were many selections to choose from that fit everyone’s dietary needs. The chefs even went out of their way to prepare something different for someone that had a strict diet. It was easy to see why their Executive Chef, Troy Mains, was named Chef of the Year 2018 by the Maine Restaurant Association.
The restaurant makes you feel like you’re dining in someone’s log cabin.
BREAKFAST: You never know what to expect with breakfast, but at the Harraseeket Inn breakfast is no joke. They had a huge selection of eggs, home fries, blueberry pancakes, yogurts, pastries, fresh fruit, and much more. You must try their granola! It was the perfect way to start the day.
TEA TIME! The inn offers something special ever day…Afternoon Tea! It is served each day from 3:30-4:30 (4:00-5:00 on Sundays). Afternoon Tea takes place in the drawing room, a serene room with leather couches, a piano, and mahogany paneled walls. They offer a large variety of tea, as well as an assortment of cookies, cakes, bars, and pastries. They do a wonderful job incorporating local Maine products such as cheese and fruit.
FITNESS ROOM: The fitness room overlooks the pool area and it is air conditioned. They provide fresh water for you to enjoy during your workouts. I got up early and used the gym before starting our day of exploring Freeport.
There are many spots to relax around the inn.
There are also places to enjoy some s’mores at the end of your day.
PET-FRIENDLY: As a dog lover, I admire hotels that go the extra mile for our furry little friends. The inn offers several pet friendly rooms. They provide dog treats with their turn-down service, as well as cozy dog beds. They can arrange for dog sitting, dog walking, and even grooming. The best part is that 20% of their pet charge fee is donated to the Coastal Humane Society in Brunswick, Maine.
