My Favorite Tea Companies

Although I’ve always been an avid tea drinker, 2020 made me realize how much we all need to take time out of our day to relax, recharge, and refresh every day.  You know I always share when I find an amazing product, so I’d love to introduce you to my favorite tea companies.

Enjoy!

PAR AVION

WHY TRAVELERS WILL LOVE THEM

The Par Avion tea team travels the world in search of excellence, produced in an artisan method, hand picking and hand sorting only the finest ingredients to be prepared in small batches. Need an amazing gift for a tea lover?  Give them a Best Seller Tea Pass (starting at $15) and they will receive monthly selections of tea.

WHAT PRODUCTS DID WE GET?

Key Lime Pie ($13.99)

Transport yourself to warm, summer days with the next best thing to a slice of key lime pie – this is a pleasing and healthful black tea blend of lime leaves, lime juice, lime pieces, and sweet candied pineapple. This tea was incredible both hot and cold, but I especially liked it iced. The lime gives it a fruity taste so I didn’t even need to add a sweetener. It will be perfect to drink all summer!

Raspberry Macaron ($17.99)

Black tea, raspberry + strawberry pieces, blackberry leaves, chamomile + rose petals, natural flavor.  I love using this tea to create a latte in the afternoon.  The raspberry and strawberry add a sweetness to it. Sometimes I keep it simple by making a hot tea and adding just a little bit of cream to it.

RED ROOT & CO

WHY TRAVELERS WILL LOVE THEM

Red Root is a travel-friendly tea because it contains both the tea and the sweetener all in one convenient cube! I love that the teas are individually packaged so you can throw a few into your travel bag.   The company suggests you add 10 oz of hot water, stir, and give yourself a hug.  It’s that simple!  I’ve got to admit that I’ve been drinking this tea almost every day! I honestly can’t get enough of it.  It has such a unique flavor and it makes me feel like I’m drinking a specialty latte from my favorite café.

WHAT PRODUCTS DID WE GET?

Red Date Ginger Tea (Was $16 Now $14.40)

A blend of red dates, ginger, longan and brown sugar blend to create a perfect cup of tea.  Although it tasted amazing when I made it with only hot water, my favorite way of drinking it is to combine it in a pan with almond milk.  The ginger gives it a spicy kick and the brown sugar makes it sweet. And here’s something unique…I threw in a cube when I made a butternut squash and pear soup.

I often have issues with my stomach, especially when I eat things my body doesn’t agree with, but the ingredients in this tea have helped ease the uncomfortable feelings.  Ginger is an effective digestive aid and natural remedy for nausea.  Also, red dates strengthen the spleen and stomach – which in turns helps to digest food.

I do recommend you use at least 10 ounces of your liquid or it can taste too strong.  I also liked that it is caffeine free, so I can drink it late in the day. The price is very reasonable.  Right now, it is only $12 for 12 pieces.  A little over $1 per tea is so affordable, especially because it contains a sweetener. I can’t wait to buy more!

WHAT PRODUCTS DID WE GET?

Black Tea with Caramel ($6.49)

This tea is so unique because it combines black tea and caramel cubes.  It was sweet enough that I didn’t have to add honey. This tea tasted delicious when I made it into an almond milk latte.

Earl Grey ($5.20)

This tea has a unique aroma from essence of Bergamot and corn flower.

Lemongrass Ginger Cinnamon ($6.49)

It’s a smooth balanced spice blend with a fruity and minty ginger note. For tea lovers who prefer the spicy side of life.

I made both of these teas hot with a little bit of cream and some local honey.  They were perfect for a cold New England night.

Organic Lemongrass, Apple & Hibiscus ($6.49)

Made with a blend of organic hibiscus, organic orange peels, and organic lemon verbena leaves.

Strawberries & Cream ($6.49)

This tea is enhanced by hints of sweet apple, distinctive rose hip, zesty orange and the unforgettably creamy taste of strawberries. (My older daughter’s favorite one!)

I made both of these teas into iced tea.  They were refreshing and full of flavor.  I added honey to one, but it probably didn’t need it.

FREE YOUR TEA

WHY TRAVELERS WILL LOVE THEM

I care about freshness when it comes to teas and I usually put loose tea in jars, but I like how they provide tins for their tea, so you know they’ll stay as fresh as day 1. I love that they have you rate your tea after you’ve tasted it, so they personalize the ones you get. I also like how as well as brew time and water temperature, they give you a recommendation on how to enjoy the tea.  They also provide bags for you to brew your tea in, which is great for when you are traveling.

WHAT PRODUCTS DID WE GET?

CHUN MEE

(Shaped like “precious eyebrows” this dark green tea is vigorously rolled and fired which contributes to a bolder, more vegetal taste.)

FUJIAN AUTUMN OOLONG

(A toasty tea with a beautiful amber color, this is a solid introduction to oolong as a tea variety somewhere in between green and black tea.)

ROSY EARL GREY

(It is hard to make a good Earl Grey even better, but the rose petals blended in here really do make this tea not just prettier, but better too.)

MOROCCAN MINT

(This Moroccan style blend of high-quality green tea and peppermint leaves is as refreshing piping hot as it is cold brewed.)

GOLDEN ASSAM BREAKFAST

(All breakfast blends have some Assam, but this one is ALL Assam: broken leaf and golden tips.  The combination makes a malty full-bodied tea to enjoy with or without milk and sugar.)

BLACK FRUIT

(As delicious as good old black tea is, there are times when you want other flavors too.  Black current and Black berries ass a little sweetness.)
