Santa’s Village

Santa’s Village

There’s nothing as magical as the spirit of Christmas and at Santa’s Village your family can experience this feeling even in the middle of summer.  So many amusement parks seem the same, but Santa’s Village offer a unique concept.  As soon as you walk through the front gate you will be transported into a winter wonderland and you’ll soon forget it’s August! My family has been going to this park for years and it’s become a tradition for us to go on my youngest daughter’s birthday.  We loved bringing our friends there this year!  Here are 10 things my family loves doing at Santa’s Village:

ELFABET GAME

Ever since my girls were little, this was a nice way to do a scavenger hunt while going about our day.  After entering the park, head over to Elf University to pick up your elfabet card.  As you walk around the park, you’ll see elves with various letters on them.  Simply punch out the letters on your card and bring it back to the university at the end of the day to claim your prize. (Hint…bring it back even if you don’t find them all.)

REINDEER SHOE BLACKSMITH SHOP

We are always greeted by the kindest men working in the blacksmith shop.  You show him which finger you’d like your ring on and he makes one out of a magic nail.  We still have ours from years ago.

REINDEER RENDEZVOUS

A trip to the North Pole would not be complete without visiting his reindeer.  In this barn you’ll see all of Santa’s reindeer (except Rudolph) and you can pet them or even give them a special treat. (Reindeer food is available for $2 in the barn.)

CHIMNEY DROP

This is one of my favorite rides and the girls and I love how your stomach falls into your throat as you drop towards the ground! This is my favorite picture of the day!!!

 SUGAR N’ SPICE BAKE SHOP

One of our favorite Christmas activities is decorating cookies.  At this bake shop you can decorate your own gingerbread boy or girl.  It is a perfect afternoon treat.

YULE LOG FLUME

How fun is a log flume, especially on a hot day?  Ride your log through the winding Yule Forest and see the North Station before you plunge down into the water.  Be prepared to get wet!  This is always our last ride before we head to the waterpark.

HIMALAYA

Not going to lie…I don’t go on this ride, but my girls love it!  I’m not a huge fan of rides that go around and around, but my girls squeal with happiness as they speed past me.

RUDY’S RAPID TRANSIT COASTER

This coaster has just the right amount of dips, turns, and speed to make it a fun ride the entire family can enjoy.

SKYWAY SLEIGH

This park favorite always has long lines, so you may want to grab a snack to enjoy as you pass the time. (Like your gingerbread man.) This sleigh monorail takes you over 30 feet above the ground, so you get a great view of the park.

HO HO H2O

This fun waterpark lets kids slide, splash, and use their imagination as they cool off with water.  Their favorite part is when the giant bucket spills, sending gallons of water onto people below.

TIPS FOR A GREAT DAY AT THE PARK:

Bring a bathing suit, towel, and an extra change of clothes.

You can rent a locker at the Elf’s Lodge

The Elf’s Lodge offers family changing rooms and restrooms.

There is a food station called the Merry Mess Hall that serves lunch, ice cream, and snacks and is located by the waterpark.

Burger Meister food court offers typical food like burgers, hot dogs, grilled cheese, chicken fingers, etc.  They also offer healthier options such as salads, fruit, and wraps.

There are rides for all family members at the park.  Don’t forget to measure your height when you enter the park, so you know what rides are suitable.

There are fun shows during the day in various locations in the park.  Make a note of times so you can work around them.
