Stone Zoo

The Stone Zoo is on 26 acres, so it is a small zoo that can easily be enjoyed in a few hours. Since the zoo is only about a half hour from Boston, it is the perfect day trip.

Supersized Creatures…Only for a limited time!

Here’s a special treat! As you explore the Zoo grounds, prepare to spot over 30 life-size animal sculptures made from millions of colorful bricks! Come face-to-face with a 370-pound praying mantis, composed of over 38,000 bricks, and slither past a 932-pound spitting cobra, made from 92,000 bricks! How many creatures can you find?

The Yukon Creek Café

The cafe offers a selection of wraps, sandwiches, burgers, fries, and many other kid-friendly foods. It also has fried dough, cookies, ice cream bars, and ice pops. (It closes for the winter season.)

Summer Hours

(April 1 – September 30)

9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. weekdays (last entry at 4:00 p.m.)

9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. weekends and major holidays (last entry at 5:00 p.m.)

Winter Hours

(October 1- March 31)

November 19 – March 31: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. daily (last entry at 3:00 p.m.)

Tips for Planning Your Day

Parking: There is a large parking lot with free parking.

Can you bring food to the zoo? You’re welcome to bring your own lunch and snacks with you. They have plenty of picnic areas available. (Glass containers, straws, or alcohol are not allowed on zoo grounds.)

Is there a gift shop? Yes, and it even sells all the essentials, like batteries, sunscreen, umbrellas, first aid kits, and basic medication.

Playground: There is a great playground at the zoo.
