Although there are lots of places to watch flamenco dancing in Barcelona, Spain, it becomes an unforgettable experience when you find an authentic, high-quality show. One of the most memorable nights we had in Barcelona was when we visited the Palau Dalmases. I can hardly wait to tell you all about it!
Where is Palau Dalmases located?
Tucked into the dark side street of Calle Montcada, the former Baroque Palace hosts nightly performances. Since it is right near the Picasso Museum, we decided to visit the museum before our show. You may miss this unimposing doorway if you’re not paying attention.
What’s this gorgeous venue like?
I could not believe what was waiting for us behind this door. The courtyard of this palace is lit with candles and you won’t know where to look first. It is breathtaking!
All about tickets
As with everything in Barcelona, you’ll want to buy tickets ahead of time.  They offer three shows per day…6:00, 7:30, and 9:00.  I chose the 7:30 show so we could go out to dinner afterwards. Tickets are 25 € per person.
Intimate seating
Seats were assigned, but since it’s such a small venue, I don’t think there’s a bad seat in the house. I love the intimate feel of this place. It’s like you are watching in someone’s home…well…their palace!
Don’t forget your delicious free drink
A drink is included with your ticket, so head over to the bar and have a beer, a glass of cava, a sangria, or some wine.
What’s the flamenco show like?
Although you mostly associate dance with flamenco, the music and singing are just as important. The hour-long show is emotionally charged and you can literally feel the vibrations from your seat. There is so much talent that it will be hard to pick your favorite. There were 5 performers…2 dancers, a singer, a guitarist, and a drummer.
Will I still like it if I don’t understand Spanish?
Absolutely! The expressions and passion they have in their voice and their moves will leave you mesmerized through the whole show. Let me tell you…those ladies know how to move! Make sure you bring your camera and be sure to take some videos.

Need an idea for an amazing dinner after the show? I’ve got a great one!!!
Euskal Taberna (right down the street from Palau Dalmases) is an authentic tapas bar, and was one of the best places where we ate while in Barcelona.   After being seated, you can help yourself to a bar lined with plates of tapas that are constantly being replaced.  You can take as many tapas as you like and at the end of your meal, they count up the number of toothpicks you have on your plate. It was such a fun way to have some beer and sample the best tapas we had on our trip.
