Goodbeing Subscription Box Review

You know I love a good beauty subscription box, so I was thrilled to get my hands on Goodbeing! What sets this box apart is you don’t get the same box as everyone else.  To build your member profile, they ask you four pages of questions about your skin, hair, beauty/health concerns, and products you are currently using or are interested in.  That way they can customize your box.  Another interesting option is you get to pick two of the products you will get in your box.  I love this!  This way, most of the box is a surprise but you also get a little control over what products you’ll get.

What comes in each box?

The standard Goodbeing box has 4-5 items per month that are both travel size and full size.  (Average value $40-$50)  The mini Goodbeing box contains 2 items per box.  (Average value $15-$20)  The box will have items of personal care, tailored beauty, bath & body, sustainable living, and optional wellness.

What was in my box??? So much fun stuff!!

Curandera Remedies Mysore Herbal Salve 1oz

 (Full size is 2oz- $15)

This was one of the samples I was able to choose.  This salve was originally developed for people that practice yoga. It has a cult following of athletes and can be used on sore muscles, arthritis pain, and daily strain.  I had a sore neck and I’m not sure if it was the salve or the massage that went along with it, but it felt much better the next day.  The salve goes on smooth and has a pleasant, but not overpowering, minty scent.

Plaine Products Body Wash 2.5oz

(Full size is 16oz- $27.50)

This body wash has a blend of rosemary, fresh mint, and vanilla and creates a nice lather.  The rosemary smell filled the shower and opened up my sinuses, which were feeling horrible since I was sick.  Instead of using disposable plastic, they use what looks like an aluminum bottle that can be reused when traveling. Nice touch.

Au Natural Organic Rose Gold Crème Highlighter

(Full size is $35)

I love a good highlighter and this is a great shade.  It’s not too metallic but it gives a good amount of highlight and it defines your face.  It’s called rose color, but it has more of a bronze tone.

Yarok Feed Your Ends 2oz

(Full size is 8oz- $27.20)

This spray does it all…it’s a detangler, heat protector, and leave-in conditioner. Since I straighten my hair a lot and I use a blow dryer most days, I’m always looking for products that will protect my hair. My hair felt silky smooth after using it and even my daughter loved it when we put it in her hair because it took all the knots out.  The spray has a lovely lemon smell.

Akar (sample set) featuring Neat Remedy Face Serum

(Full size 4-piece set, including lip butter $247)

This is the second sample I was able to choose.  I am looking for a new skincare routine so I was curious to check this out.  The toner was easy to apply since it was in a spray bottle.  It had a pleasant rose scent and it did not make my skin feel too tight the way some toners do.  The face oil was a bit too oily for me and I wasn’t crazy about the woodsy scent.  Maybe it’s something I would get used to, after using a cream moisturizer for years.  The eye serum went on easily since you just put a drop on your fingertip and gently tap it around your eye.

The Akar sample set also included a Ruby Tint Lip Butter

There was not much tint to the lip butter even though it looks bright red in the bottle.  In fact, my eleven-year-old liked it so much I gave it to her since she’s just starting to get into makeup.  This one is natural enough that it looks great on her.

Rechoc Chocolate Supplement

(Full size is 20 bars- $24.95)

The card that came with it said, “Be our Valentine.  A little bonus gift for you.”  I tried so hard to understand all of the health benefits of this chocolate but it went right over my head…polyphenols, epicatechins, resveratrol…yep…no clue.  But they were so tasty and the dark chocolate would go great with a nice glass of red wine!

What is the cost of the subscription box?

Standard box: Monthly: $24.95/box

Annual price prepaid: $263.40 ($21.95/box)

Mini box: Monthly $9.95/box

Annual: $107.40 ($8.95/box)
