Key West Itinerary

Who went on this trip?

One of my favorite qualities about my husband is how spontaneous he is.  When he asked me if I wanted to go to Key West with him in five days, I immediately started packing my bags. This trip was all about relaxing, having fun, and spending time together.

Where did we stay?

When it came to choosing a hotel, I had three criteria: location, a pool, and a view of the Gulf.  The Hyatt Centric Key West Resort & Spa more than acceded our expectations and we couldn’t think of a better place to stay while in Key West.

Here’s what we did on our weekend in Key West:

Day 1…The afternoon we arrived:

After exploring the hotel, we went down to the hotel bar, the Blue Mojito Bar and Grill, to enjoy some frozen margaritas and listen to the live music playing.

Dinner was at the hotel restaurant, Shor.  They have an amazing deck that overlooks the Gulf.  (Try the seafood coconut lime risotto.)

After dinner, we walked to the pier and enjoyed the relaxing views of the resort and the water.

Day 2

We started our morning with breakfast at the hotel, Shor, for their Crab Cake Benedict.

A 5-minute walk gets you to Duval Street. We did a little shopping and walked down to the Southernmost Point, which is only about a 20-minute walk from the resort.

Next stop was the Bull and Whistle Bar (A great open-air bar)

and Irish Kevin’s (They had great live music!)

We were so hot and felt like it was time to relax.  So, we headed back to the resort and went right to the pool!

Before dinner, we headed to Schooner’s Wharf to grab some beers. It’s a fun spot and had live music.

For dinner we went to Alonzo’s Oyster Bar, a 5-minute walk from the resort.  It looks out towards the marina and they are known for their raw bar towers.

Day 3

Our first stop of the day was to Rodriguez Cigar Factory for a tour and the chance to roll our own cigars.

We walked around Duval Street following the sound of live music.  We checked out Hog’s Breath.

And then we headed to and Smokin’ Tuna.

Since it was so hot, there was nowhere else we wanted to be than the water.  The resort has a sandy area with chaise chairs and next to it has stairs that lead into the Gulf.

Before dinner, we stopped at Willie T’s for more live music and cold beers.

For dinner, we ate at Viva Argentinian Steakhouse (They have a delicious Lemongrass Mojito.)
