Monthly Product Roundup: August

So sorry that this is a week late…end of summer got in the way! It was the last week of summer in our house before school started and we were trying to squeeze every bit of summer fun out of the time we had left. So now, back to the products we tested out this month that we fell in love with! Enjoy!

Lamo Sneakers

WHY TRAVELERS WILL LOVE THEM: I am always looking for a sneaker that looks cute and are comfortable on my feet.  The light blue color on these Lamo sneakers are perfect to wear with everything and I’ve been wearing them all summer.  I just wore them the other day to Santa’s Village and I was so impressed that they were still comfortable after a day of wearing them at an amusement park.

WHAT ELSE I LOVE ABOUT THEM: The shoe has a cirrus memory foam footbed so they mold to your feet.  They are well-made with quality materials and are lightweight so I can just throw them in my travel bag.  My girls think the little lamb tag on the side is adorable.

COST: $42.99

B. Nutty Gourmet Peanut Butter

WHY TRAVELERS WILL LOVE THEM: My family are huge fans of peanut butter since it’s an easy way to get protein added to your day.  However, not all peanut butter tastes the same, so we get excited when we find one that tastes great.  These are the best ones we’ve tasted yet!

WHAT ELSE I LOVE ABOUT THEM: Since we live at the lake on weekends, we’re always coming up with new ways to make s’mores. Our favorite s’mores this summer has been taking a graham cracker, spreading this peanut butter on it, and topping it with a piece of chocolate and a roasted marshmallow.  It was the perfect treat to eat by the campfire.

We also like to eat it on the side of apple slices.

COST: 12 oz. $8               2 oz. $3

Mizu Water Bottle

WHY TRAVELERS WILL LOVE THEM: While on the boat every weekend, it’s important to hydrate or I know I’ll get a big headache at the end of the day.  I’ve been using this water bottle all summer and I couldn’t be happier with it.  I fill it with ice and water at the start of the day and I know it will stay cold.

WHAT ELSE I LOVE ABOUT THEM: I love the pretty turquoise color and the 14 oz size is good to carry around when traveling. I like that it fits nicely in a cup holder and it is light weight.    I would probably buy a larger one to use on the boat and keep the smaller one for trips.  I also love their wine cup!  It would make a great gift!

COST: $24.99

Card games: Unstable Unicorns, Llamas Unleashed, Scram

WHY TRAVELERS WILL LOVE THEM: One of my favorite parts about camping each weekend are the card games we play by the lake.  I feel like when we’re at the lake we finally get the chance to slow down and focus on each other, and these games have been so fun to play together! They are age appropriate so my 11-year-old can understand the rules and the adults can be challenged as well.

WHAT GAMES DID WE GET?

Unstable Unicorns

Be the first person to build an army of 7 unicorns. Good for ages 14 and up.

Cost $20

Stomp Rocket

WHY TRAVELERS WILL LOVE THEM: My youngest daughter loved testing out this toy.  It is great for travel because it can be easily assembled and is lightweight enough to bring in your travel bag.  My girls had so much fun challenging each other to see who could get their rocket to go the highest.

WHAT ELSE I LOVE ABOUT THEM: It was also fun to see them experimenting with distance, force, and trajectory, when they decided to use targets and see who can land them closest. It’s nice to see them outdoors using their imagination and trying to problem solve.

COST $21

The Comfy

WHY TRAVELERS WILL LOVE THEM: My daughter loves this and tells me it feels like she is wearing a cozy blanket over her.  Since we’re camping so much this summer, it’s been the one thing she makes sure she keeps in her tent.  She loves to put it on after swimming in the evening and to snuggle with while at the campfire.  She also likes to wear it first thing in the morning when it’s chilly.

WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THEM: Since she camps with it, it often smells like smoke from the campfire, so I like that I can throw it in the washing machine and dryer and it comes out looking (and smelling) like new.  The creators were on Shark Tank and were backed by Barbara.

COST $29.99
