When I think of New England summers I picture sitting on Adirondack chairs by the lake watching my girls jumping off the dock while the dog digs in the sand. Life is simple and easy. Even cooking takes on a new look. It’s all about cooking on the grill and eating fresh vegetables from the farmers market. This grilling box from New England’s Finest could not have come at a better time! We loved their box this winter and we couldn’t wait to see what this one held.
What do I love about this box?
New England’s Finest gives each of their boxes a theme. This for The Grill box could not have come at a better time. I could se it being a great box for Father’s Day, a housewarming gift, or for that special someone in your life that is a foodie.
I love working with honest companies that have a passion. New England’s Finest has a mission to curate and deliver the best New England has to offer- from the Cape to Beantown to the White Mountains. They have a commitment to quality, community, and sustainability and they like to work with small companies that share the same values.
What comes in each box?
Each box contains 4-6 high-quality products from New England craftsmen and artisans. They also include a full-colored newsletter with information about the products and companies that contributed to the box. And the best part is the products are not trial sizes!
So…what was in our box?
GRILLIN’ WICKED AWESOMELY APRON
(New England’s Finest/NH)
My kids both wanted to be the model for this apron but as I was sitting on the dock drinking a cup of tea, I realized the perfect model was wagging his tail right in front of me! I couldn’t resist! How sweet is he in this apron?
The apron is made of sturdy fabric and has a great length that you can fold up or wear long. It offers great coverage and is super cute. My brother always makes fun of us for saying “wicked” in New Hampshire, so I can’t wait to wear it the next time he visits!
LEMON PEPPER SEASONING
(White Mountain Canning Co./NH)
One of my favorite summer perks in New England are farmers markets. Every week we head to the park to visit the stalls to find local New Hampshire produce. I picked up some fresh tuna and couldn’t wait to sprinkle some of this lemon pepper seasoning on it.
You could taste the lemon, cumin, and red pepper flavors which paired nicely with soy sauce.
I paired it with a fresh tomato salad. It was an amazing meal!
HERD NERD SPICE
(Herd Nerd/MA)
The next day we decided to head out to the sand bar to grill up some burgers and watch the sunset. I grabbed some blue cheese burgers from the local butcher and sprinkled some of this spice onto it. It gave the burgers a smoky taste that blended so well with the blue cheese.
It was the perfect start to our evening.
GINGER SOY INFUSION DRESING, MARINADE, AND SAUCE
(Wozz Kitchen Creations/NH)
We decided to marinade some local organic steak tips and grill it up on a rainy Friday night when we had friends over. The ginger makes this marinade pop, but it’s not too overpowering. I put some on the side since some people wanted to have a stronger taste. It was delicious. I plan on marinating our fish with it this week (possibly cod) and my friend and I are going to try to make a salad dressing with it.
